The GLeague draft was today and the Stars selected four players all of whom I would not be surprised to see cut before the GLeague season starts. All four guys are totally non-descript. A former first round pick (Chandler Hutchison} was taken by the Long Island Nets.

The Stars announced their training camp roster of 18 which includes the three two ways. I'm assuming at least two and maybe three draft picks will be joining the party for the GLeague bus rides. The coaching staff will be busy paring the roster down to a workable number.

Stars get pasted tonight by the Lakers JVs and Bronny. The Stars won the last three quarters but were whipped so soundly in the first that it was never a contest. Bronny looked like a stiff. No Potter tonight. Preston and Oscar looked adequate. Taevion Kinsey, Keyshawn Justice and Max Abmas had some good moments for the Stars but a horrible game to watch.

Cody should be here, getting 20+ on-ball reps and 8 3pt attempts per game.

He should also be drinking protein shakes laced with testosterone.

Cool; Stars got the guy James Hansen mistook for VJ Edgecombe when he was trying to persuade Jazz fans about the need for tanking this time around (Pierre-Louis):

Stars lose by 4 in Stockton after being down 21 to start the 4th quarter. No Potter or Preston. Isiah Wong with 35 points and Oscar with a double=double and 25 rebounds. Kinsey and Justice played decently. The Stars need help.

Jason Preston and Potter are both injured and appear to be out for awhile. Do the Jazz cut ties with them and bring in two new players to the two way slots?

Stars lose a carbon copy game of the other night by six points. Oscar with 18 boards and Isiah Wong with 26 points and 9 TOs. The Stars don't look to be as talented as their competition at the moment. There was a goofy call at the end of what looked like an offensive foul get turned into a three point play and an intentional foul on the Stars. I don't think it affected the outcome but can't the NBA get a better caliber of ref?

Stars with a 9 point win over the Blazer JVs. Potter played tonight and looked sore and rusty. Preston is still out with injury. Isiah Wong and Max Abamas were over 20 points and Oscar had 22 points and 20 boards. All you Darius Bazely fans he had 25 points, 10 boards off the bench and was a +27 in the box in a 7 point win for the Sixer JVs.

Stars with a 10 point win vs the Blazers JVs. Isiah Wong with 41 points and Tavion Kinsey with 22 points. Potter and Oscar with solid games. The game was not that close.

The Jazz and free agent wing David Jones have agreed to a two-way contract, agents Deirunas Visockas and Guillermo Bermejo tell Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

Jones had a highly productive junior campaign for Memphis in 2023/24, averaging 21.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game on .459/.380/.797 shooting in 32 contests (32.3 MPG). A native of the Dominican Republic, Jones had previous collegiate stops at DePaul and St. John’s before transferring to the Tigers.

Shortly after going undrafted in June, Jones agreed to an two-way deal with the Sixers and played for Philadelphia’s Summer League teams in both Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, averaging 9.1 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 1.6 SPG in seven games (18.2 MPG). However, he was waived by the 76ers in September, just ahead of training camp, when the team needed to open up a two-way slot for Lester Quinones.

Jones began his first professional season playing for the Mexico City Capitanes in the G League this fall. He averaged 21.3 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 3.5 APG on .475/.316/.789 shooting in his first four NBAGL outings.

Lest one suspect tis thy same Davy Jones from the band The Monkeys, sadly, the original DJ expired several years ago.
