GLeague Chitt

The thing is Ochai didn't look bad in the few games he got decent minutes with us. In the gleague he is playing a role that likely won't be his role in the nba so other than staying in shape I'm not sure I see the benefit. As mentioned his primary role in the nba is going to be as a 3 and and cutter guy.

What kind of role do they have Agbaji playing for the Stars? I haven't watched the games, but from box scores it seems like he hasn't taken on some high usage role.

The Stars got whupped last night. Ochai and Bolmaro looked bad as in awful. Our guards or wings couldn't throw it in the ocean. Potter led the team in scoring and rebounding. Based on these two games neither Ochai nor Bolmaro ought to be considered prospects. They put off a similar stinky vibe that Butler did last year in this venue.
Potter looked good in limited action preseason. I believe he’s listed as a center but does he possess the athletic ability to cover NBA fours? Does he have three point range? I like many have concerns about Rudy Gay and was wondering if Potter could provide a cost effective solution short of a trade.

I think Potter is Tyler Cavanaugh with more talent. He played college ball in the Big 10 and seems to have a decent three point shot. The concern I would have is foot speed and quickness. Scouts saw some holes in his game to not draft him.

Cool! Pretty sure he has more foot speed than Gay at this point in Gay’s career. Hope he gets his chance, unless of course we pull the trigger on a trade or Gay finds his old form again.

Stars with a 10 point loss to the Clipps GLeaguers in a matinee. Juwan Morgan played for the Clipps in a meh performance. Potter and Juzang the leading scorers with 20 each, Potter the leading rebounder and Bolmaro the leading assist guy. Ochie looked OK along with Bolmaro. The Stars play the GLeague Ignite tomorrow tonight in Vegas. Their first five games were on the road. At this point why doesn't Hardy let the two way guys, Bolmaro, Ochie and Dok have some run? It would give the vets some rest and would determine if any of them can play at the show level.

Stars lose by 5 to the Ignite. Potter and Frank Jackson did not play and no reason as to why. The legendary Paris Bass led the Stars in scoring and rebounding. Rawle Alkins lead in assists and played well. Ochai looked like a ball player tonight and did several things well. Unfortunately Juzang and Bolmaro looked horrible. The Stars cut a sizable lead to two points a couple of times in the last two minutes but couldn't quite get over the hump. They play their first home game of the season Monday.

Stars get smoked in their home opener by 16 by the Ws GLeaguers. James Wiseman played for the Ws and Potter did OK against him. Ochai had 20 points and looked decent. No Bolmaro, Juzang or Frank Jackson for the Stars. This was a weird game where the Stars starters more than held their own and the bench got destroyed. Here's a hot tip: the guys that played for us in Summer League aren't any good. Paris Bass the leading scorer and rebounder and Rawle Alkins lead in assists. Same teams play tomorrow.

Stars in a 29 point win tonight. I think everyone on the Stars looked like an NBA player tonight. No Bolmaro, Jackson or Juzang for the Stars. Seven guys in double figures. Ochai looked good. Paris Bass lead the team in rebounding and assists with 19 points. Tyler Cook was the leading scorer. Potter played James Wiseman to a draw. Jeenathan Williams was as good as he was horrible last night with 20 points tonight. The stat line of the night belongs to Seth Davis. 12 points 7 boards, a block 4 assists and a +42 in the box score. Sign him up.

An official Jazz tweet: "Johnny Juzang suffered a full thickness tear (Grade 3 sprain) in his right wrist while playing with the @slcstars against the G League Ignite on Nov. 18. He will be reevaluated in 10-14 days."

The good news is that the Stars had a six point lead with 38 seconds to play. The bad news is that they choke that away and lose by one at the buzzer aided by some really questionable calls by the refs during that time. Paris Bass came within an assist and two rebounds of a triple double and had 31 points. Potter had a solid game with 19 points and hit a three pointer that gave them the six point lead. During the really bad 38 second Bass was a turnover and foul machine but I will say he is lucky to have any arms left after he was hacked to death with no calls. Ochai is with the Jazz and Bolmaro has a concussion. Our two summer league guards were horrible. The Stars played with eight guys.
