GLeague Prospects

Oh **** they got the 1st pick... It's an absolute no-brainer in my mind. They MUST draft Darius Bazely #1... There is no other viable options...

Anyone who things Bazely's move to the G-league (to make 26 grand at 17 years old) is a short-sighted fool.
They don’t get to keep his rights, he’s still in the draft in 2019. . . but they’ll have a year to develop him, build a relationship AND collect exclusive data on him heading into the draft.

I agree. . . it’s a no-brainer. Have to take him. Thanks for chiming in.

Some might recall that I was hyping Keita Bates-Diop before his freshman season here and he was easily one of the best players in Div. 1 s a Sr this season..

I whole heartedly believe that Bazley has an even higher ceiling. He''s lottery grade... possibly top-10 material...
He compares to Otto Porter Jr also IMO. I've seen him play a bunch... That kid can ball, he's not one of these suckers thats like getting by on manipulating the rules..... The proof is in the pudding.. He's a legit 6'9"....

No G-League but former Florida PG Scottie Wilbekin is absolutely one of the best PG's outside of the NBA and IMO deserves a very close look. He has ice running thru his veins for sure and is like 6'4" and can really shoot it.

@sonofthebigdog - what are your thoughts on the Stars/Jazz picking Bazley and developing him for a season?

Any thoughts on Landry Nnoko?

Obviously, those are the two guys I’d like the Stars to add for next year.
If the Stars pick Bazley and have him play in Taylorsville, it would be not a lot different than him enrolling at Utah or BYU as the Jazz would have to pick him in the 2019 draft to have his rights. I think it would be a good move both PR wise and basketball wise for the Stars. Regarding Nnoko I think he is a solid GLeague player not much different than Georges Niang or Eric Griffin. He is someone that Gordon Chiesa calls the interchangeables in that guys 10-15 on an NBA bench and better players are in the GLeague are well interchangeable.

Here is an excellent write up about Andre Ingram. He sounds like a Jazz kind of guy.

Ingram made his NBA debut for the Lakers after 384 games over a full decade in the developmental G League, including parts of the past six years with the Lakers' affiliate. The former American University physics major has hit 713 3-pointers in the G League with 46-percent accuracy, but his slight stature kept him out of the NBA until this late call-up. Ingram played briefly in Australia, but mostly declined chances to play overseas because he was determined to earn an NBA shot through the minors. He once tutored teammates in math to

make extra cash in the offseason. Ingram averaged only 9.1 points this season for the South Bay Lakers, but hit 47.5 percent of his 3-pointers.
