As far as no major FA coming to the Utah Jazz: this is been the case since day 1, 1979 and it hasn't changed. After almost 40 years, one would have to understand that this would be the case in perpetuity unless the Jazz get REALLY lucky. So this should be treated as a given fact and not something to beat up management over.

So, realistically and from a competitive standpoint, the formula the Jazz are using is practical and sensible as opposed to wreckless. And that's our Jazz

2003-2008 Pistons - 1 chip
1997-2015 Spurs - 5 chips

The formula does work. It has been proven to work. Now the Jazz has not had the success of the Spurs but the formula is the same. Jazz could certainly turn out to match the Pistons as far as success though.

You have to give something of value to get something. You aren't acquiring teague for Burke and filler. I think Mil. would give them the Clippers pick they have or some other fringe asset that would beat the Burke plus filler offer.

I think you are over valuing Teague. The Jazz can have them if they want him. He has one foot out the door and the Hawks need to resolve the situation.

New York is better than the Jazz this year.
 
Perhaps Exum will turn into a solid bench player
Maybe Hood will become a serviceable starter a la Marvin Williams
Perhaps Hayward will improve slightly more
Maybe Favors will as well
Perhaps Gobert won't be an offensive sink hole to fill every nigh
Maybe the Jazz will get lucky and draft a player in the second round who breaks out (before players are let go in free agency)
Perhaps the Jazz won't blow it all up again
Maybe the Jazz will bring in another painful patch like Al Jefferson
Perhaps then they will blow it up

Marvin Williams scores 9.7 point per game on 40% shooting. We can only hope Hood aspires to be this good some day.

Hood is already a "serviceable" starter. He's already much better than Marvin Williams.
Favors has and continues to improve every season.
Hayward is improving every year
Jazz have hit gold the last two years in the late first round.


You are over playing your hand trying to make a point.
