Go GET Teague

Teague is averaging 5.5 ast this season by the way.

We need a Lowry level pg at minimum, PLUS another dominant piece.

So we should just trade for lowry and another dominant piece!

Come on DL!

I disagree with this notion that if there is a logjam you can simply trade a guy. I don't think it's that easy. Especially if you want good value back.

I figure every team in the league has a couple of guys that they would like to move yet how many actual trades go down each year? Maybe 5 or so? (I honestly have no idea if I'm even in the ball park here)

How many trades have the jazz made in the last 10 years?

I don't think it's always that easy to simply trade a guy if there is a logjam.... Unless you want a second rounder back in exchange

The example people always cite is the dragic Bledsoe Thomas thing... Which in hindsight would have been fine for Phoenix if they wouldn't have done the knight trade and it turns out dragic wasn't that great anyhow.

I don't think we would have got a top dollar guy... If we did and we had to take reduced value when alleviating the log jam at least we'd get some value... We ended with only the value that Greg is putting in his pocket which sucks for all of us but is great news if you are in the frosted tips and fancy car business

This rebuild is FUBAR.

Teague
Hayward
Hood
Favors
Gobert

No better than Clippers or Rockets. They would give Dallas a good run for their money.

Teague and then what?

Then Exum comes back and lyles develops and we add first round draft picks to that core. That team if healthy is better than next years clippers, rockets, and grizz if they don't retool. If KD and Steph collide in a game and both tear acls we are in the finals.

The hype/hope for Exum is even dumber than the hoype for Burks and the hoype for playing a bunch of mediocre NBA players ahead of established vets.

I'm starting to wonder if this fan base truly is the dumbest fan base in professional sports. Utah will never win a championship because the fans are so easy to sell a basket full of bull **** to.

See y'all next blowup-rebuild.

Another way to go and this is basically saying this year is lost is if we still believe in Exum is to go after Nando De Colo in the off season. He has been tearing it up in the Euroleague and is probably the best player this year. He can play the 1 and 2 as well. This would give Exum a good vet to play with while he improves his play. We also do not give up any good assets like we would have to to get Teague.

the notion that the intelligence and judgment of the fanbase affect the teams actual ability to win is truly dumb.

stepping way back, I'd say that the odds of what you're saying is true are reasonably high. But then there's this whole "born fan" thing -- with which you and I (and others) are afflicted.

Teague showed every sign of a true breakout last year and the year before. He's a Tony Parker type, who forces an initial flaw in the defense, which other passers and scorers can take advantage of. He's never been a high-volume assister. That's fine.

There's also a reasonable chance that the market for Teague is pretty tepid, so that he could be had for relative scraps (in terms of players that you yourself, Sir franklin, have liked).

There's value to the franchise in a playoff run + playoff position next year. There's value added to pieces like Hayward, Favors, Gobert, etc. when they have playoff experience + more time with above average PG help.

If true, this is the PG they should go after!!!!!!!!!! I'd condone trading future picks. He can easily play next to Exum/Hood/Hayward

@hoopscritic
In taking to people around the league on who has been made available in trade talks a very surprising name has come up: DeAngelo Russell

this is the same guy that said the Jazz will get Teague... I think he is nothing more than a guy who can't tie a proper neck tie and spews hot takes. Obviously you go get Russell, but this is not really true.
