I mean you were saying the exact same thing about that contract a week or two ago and that contract just got moved for 5 1st round picks, most of them unprotected, 1 pick swap and 40M worth of expirings... It's pretty obvious that the league sees much higher value in Gobert and his contract than you. And that's OK.Rudy is going to be making 44/46M when he's 32/33 years old, could easily be one of the worst and least moveable contracts in the league in a few years. Donovan has shown he can score at a historic level in the playoffs, Rudy has gotten his arse busted by Nic Batum and Maxi Kleber.
BTW in 2024 the new TV deal comes into place, and projections are salary cap might bump up to over 170M. This means Rudy's contract in those final 2 years will be around 26% of the cap.
