This doesnt make a lot of sense to me. I you are keeping Don and not tanking why in gods name would you send Rudy to a team in the west thats a Rudy Gobert away from contending?

Obviously we know that those 16/17 picks became two All-Stars… but, at first glance, this is comparable to one of the all time worst/greatest trades.

No it’s not. It was obvious to everyone but the Nets that those incoming players were past their prime, ala the Rox bringing on Barkley and Pippen.

Hate the Ayton idea.

I love the Ayton idea as long as it doesn't cost us more than 2 of the firsts that we have added. He is a really good player and I think he still has quite a bit more upside.

That's a super sad day for me as a Jazz fan. I really loved Rudy and other teams' fans hate for him made me love him even more. His relentlessness and unselfishness on both ends of the floor were defining characteristics of this iteration of Jazz basketball and the main reason this team was good when it was good and his absence was the reason we were bad/mediocre any time he missed games. Of course he had his ill-fated **** up around COVID and unfortunately this for some people defined him, rather than his response in the aftermath, but still...

I will always root for Rudy. Whenever he's not playing the Jazz he will always have a fan in me. I hope Minny gives him more love and support than the Jazz did.

Best center in the history of the Jazz.

Love this trade if the Jazz go into full rebuild mode. I get to watch Gobert in what could be a very entertaining team, and the Jazz got a lot of rebuilding assets.

My fear is that we won’t rebuild and we will blow those assets trying to keep this a play in team.
