What's new

Gobert to Minnesota

True on the mystery part. What Ainge got the first time were high level lottery picks. This is a bunch of mediocrity at best. This makes no sense in surrounding Diva Donny and no sense in a blow up. Obviously there is more to come so I will sit tight but so far this is bad.
Those picks Danny got in the past were supposed to be bad picks too... these things have a way of becoming more than you think. Even if they are used later to get stuff... we will have to wait. From a value standpoint we did well. I would want to trade Don too but not sounding like that happens. It was time.

If we are blowing it all up I agree. If we are getting this to do something around Don I am stunned. And I seriously doubt these become 1-4 lottery picks which is what Danny ended up with round one. These have very little chance of becoming anything other than middle range guys. People get all excited about draft picks but most picks dont translate into much.

The pick they traded to the Warriors ended up being #2 overall in the Wiggins deal.
It could happen. So I guess if folks are excited about rolling the dice they should be excited. I would have prefered some real talent and we got none.

Oh im very happy with the haul, now just pull the whole bandaid off and move DM. No half stepping in this league.
I think it's at least somewhat likely that the team will suck but Ayton will be more valuable individually than what we have to give up to get him. I don't mind just trying to rehab his value if the price is right.

Even if they don't... we got Rudy with the #27 pick in the draft. If KAT and Towns don't work well the picks could get good pretty quickly. If Ant takes a step back instead of forward... it gets interesting. West is gonna be a blood bath. So a team ends up in the play in and anything can happen... ask the Clips.

All I'm saying is 2023 is likely not a great pick... the others no one knows... they could be lotto or close to it.

Of course they could but the odds are against it - this is a wing and a prayer. We traded an all star and HOF type player and got very little known talent in exchange. And folks are excited about it? Again, I hope this means we are blowing it all up. If this is to build around Donny it is very puzzling.

The Pelicans got the 8th pick from the Lakers and one of the Clippers picks was in the lottery for OKC this year. Houston controls Brooklyn's draft for the foreseeable future, didn't look valuable when they traded Harden, now it does.

Exactly what I was thinking. 2023 should be a bad pick, but you never know about later than that.

Momma there goes that Man!!!

@andylarsen is bringing the damn fire... of course... he aint with the company messaging... he keeps his third eye open and gives us da trooff!

Next stop... Tank City with 1,000 first round picks.
Also... masterclass... Ainge trades Rudy for 4 picks... now Suns can get a few picks (from Indy maybe) to send Brooklyn's way to get teh KD deal done... Brooklyn sends those picks to Miami to get Herro... Miami sends all teh picks to us.

I want Bam, Herro, and 3/4 unprotected 1sts
That sounds like where Danny would start the bidding... but that ain't gonna be it. Like I have said... we get all the picks, Duncan (rehabs his value), Strus (route him elsewhere), Herro goes somewhere else for a couple more firsts.

Get like 5 firsts... Maybe the like Herro more than me. I just don't want to pay that guy 5 minutes after getting him. Think Brooklyn might like him for some of the **** they get for KD.

Herro, Bridges, BS... theoretically that's a decent start to something. They have no incentive to be bad.

So we traded an all star for "you never know?" Completely agree and trading someone like Rudy for a hopeful prayer makes no sense. We should have at least got some talent in return. I am fine with the prayer part IF we got some talent to go with it.

You do realize that the Jazz can very easily do that with the assets they have now, right?
