Gobert's Offense

I think he has been setting much better screens. Not pretty, but a huge part of any good offence.

Pretty bad outing from the charity stripe today - 6/14 - and they even went grab-a-Gobert for a while in the fourth. Overall he was fouled five times and went 4/9 in the fourth, fortunately the game never got close enough for it to matter. However, it was his first game this year shooting under 50% from the stripe, hopefully this was an aberration rather than a regression, because it's the only meaningful improvement he's made at that end of the floor this season.

^ agreed, saddest thing about this game was the 6/14 FT shooting. I hope he can get to 70% this season, that would be a really nice mark to reach

He's much better ft shooter. Even last night when he had a rough night from the line his form looked fine and he was close on most the misses. He has been setting better screens. He is better at crashing towards the hoop after the screen which sucks defenders in. The threat of an easy lob or the threat of him being in easy position for the rebound is opening up the court more than last year for us. He has shown a few more offensive moves but they are still limited but he will improve for at least a few more years every year.

They still need to teach him to maintain his composure when he gets the ball on the block and toss up a little jump hook. Just adding that would make him devastating as a more all-around player.

Last night i saw him dribble the ball from the top of the three point line and make a nice move on a side step around bogut for a layup and the foul. The refs blew it though by calling the foul on the wrong dude.

I'm mostly impressed by his free throw shooting and his hands. Haven't those been our biggest complaints on him? These things take a lot of practice since he is playing at the highest level. I'm thrilled so far with just those two things improving

Yeah, I agree.

He's rather spastic and it doesnt come naturally to him. He's definitely a work in progress and even if his offense doesnt come around, his ability to change the game just with presence alone is something you can see in every game. RG makes opposing players think twice many a times throughout the game.

I wonder how much of this is competent PG play and how much is Gobert improving.
