What's new

Gordon Hayward is third in assist OPPORTUNITIES by a non-PG this season

lol, that would not only be damn nice, but probably put him in MVP talks. Those numbers are seriously outstanding.

No it wouldn't.

All that has to happen for that is a slightly improved FT%, 9% on 3pt (his career average of all things) and less TOs (wait till Burke comes back). As shown in another thread his APG will go up once he has scorers around him.

I think those numbers are possible for Hayward. Will he do it or not is the question.

Not sure. All I know is he's playing much better than a typical $10,000,000 player. He's also improving every game.

What I see in Hayward is someone trying hard to win, no matter what it takes, when those around him are sub-par at best. He is mixing it up and trying to be the one to get things started, trying to be what the team needs at the time, trying to take on the #1 role when in reality he is best as a #2 or even #3. But the amount of effort and the fact that he seems to learn and build on his mistakes and successes gives me hope. And he is the only one really putting up solidly consistent numbers, and quite frankly the only one who seems to really care right now about something other than padding his own stats.
