Meanwhile Hayward is on a 5 game streak where he is averaging 24-5-3.5 and you would think he is chopped liver according to some posters on this site who are looking to denounce him at every turn. Same thing with Burke.

Dog welcome to Jazzfanz. People LOVE scapegoating Hayward. Dude is a comparable player to George and everyone just loves ragging on how we missed on him to draft G instead. I mentioned this a couple weeks ago when he had a slow start-- all the people who didn't wanna match him consistently come out of the woodwork every time they find something to complain about.

I like Hayward more than George. I like his game, I like his personality, and he suits Favors better (and right now I take Favors > George). There's the 1-2 punch that our franchise has been clamouring for. The emergence of Favors has changed the scope of this franchise completely. It has also guaranteed rotation minutes for Burke, cuz I'd be damned if they don't play well together.


Where the **** are the Kawhi Leonard posts? Who is LEEAAGUUEESS better than Alec? Not to mention PG playing with CJ and Hill where Hayward plays with Neto, and Hood.

Not sure how Davis name ends up in that group. It's those 3 then everybody else. I'd argue PG13 is better than Davis.
 
Remember PGABs ******** thread about Hayward? ****ing plebs. Hayward looks like ****ing Bruce Bowen in OT, one of our main needs in the western conference playoffs is defending SFs, and we're denying his greatness?

PG was hotter than he's ever been, and he still couldn't land buckets on G. That's three now, after Melo and Bron, for players that Hayward has locked up in close games. PG is in the echelon below those players, with Favors and Hayward.
 
Gonna be pimp when Hayward heats up in February and takes this league by ****ing storm. Dude is averaging in the 20s recently and that's with him not even looking good.

Yeah, and that's with Hood being cold and playing with 2 rookies in the starting lineup (at times).
 
Again, it's early and George is putting together one of the best regular seasons of all time and his team has been arguably one of the top 5 best teams so far this season. Hayward is a really good player. His defense has been outstanding, something I have been preaching all season long. He isn't an MVP caliber player.
 
Some defensive statistics:

George's opponents are shooting: 36.6% from the field and normally average 43.3% (-6.7% difference). 29.2% from 3 and normally average 33.7% (-4.5%)

Hayward's opponents are shooting: 45.2% from the field and normally average 44.2% (+1.0% difference). 38.6% from 3 and normally average 34.8% (+3.9% difference)


Obviously this doesn't tell the whole story but please give me some sort of basis for the claim that Hayward is not even better, but even just as good as Paul George other than playing good defense in an OT and apparently the idea that Hayward would also put up MVP numbers if he had shooters?

I think Hayward is a really good player. Not sure who's better between him and Favors. However IMO Gordon is clearly several level below Paul. Which is much more about how great I think George is as opposed to Hayward not playing at an high level.

God damn you guys are sensitive af. I love Hayward, I literally never think to myself 'man, really shoulda picked PG.' You are completely missing the point.

I said that PG, a top 10 player in the league right now was better than Hayward. That's it, nothing else.

The way you people interpret that is hilarious. I don't even know why it's a discussion, ask ANYBODY around the league who they would rather have. This is like if you were trying to argue Favors is better than AD.

You say us 'Hayward Haters' (LOLZ) are mad about draft position. Actually, I'm pretty sure that draft position is the only reason you guys feel the need to vehemently defend Hayward against PG. If they were just two random players who weren't drafted near each other then there would be no need to compare who is better. It would just be obvious.

Accepting these facts does not mean that you hate Hayward or regret drafting him.
