What's new

Hardy isn’t the guy for this job. It isn’t working

I hope Hardy realizes how absolutely stupid he looks tonight with how great the Jazz young players looked.

He hasn’t been benching them to tank. He’s been benching them to “try to do his best to win with the roster he has.” At least that’s what all the excuses for him have been.

Someone clearly sent him a message tonight to bench the vets and look what happened. The young guys got better and balled out. It’s also a million times more fun to watch.

Do you have brain damage?

I do. I got it from watching Hardy play mediocre veterans over the Jazz youth year after year. Remember Keyonte George sitting the bench last season to Collin sexton? That was a large contributor to my brain damage.

So wait, maybe actually having power over minutes as a tool to motivate works?

I should note here one thing: Jazz has lately been having loose schedule so there has been time to go thru more team practices. I'm sure that has something to add into how Cody or Taylor performed last night. Especially Taylor coming back this season from recovered injury. These looser spots in the schedule allow to go thru more film and have discussions with coaches, among team practices, and is especially for the young guys worth of gold. In euro-ball we have much more of this bc of the looser schedule so it's easier to work thru the holes in the team play.

Just wanted to say that I think you are a great poster. Reasonable, balanced, intelligent. Often bring a differing viewpoint that I hadn't seen or considered that is insightful.
Keep up the good work.

Not to mention Hardy is worst defensive coach in the history of basketball. (Literally. The Jazz have the worst defensive net rating of all time right now. It's not even that close either.)

I can’t believe this thread is still going, it’s so idiotic.

Hardy is a great coach. He’s well on his way to having a second player get the Most Improved Award. That’s significant.

He’s coveted by other front offices. His reputation and acumen is considered stellar.

Young players aren’t great at defense, with rare exception. We have lots of young players. This will improve with time and growth.

Finally, he’s beloved by his players. Especially Lauri, Key and Ace. Losing Hardy would be a significant blow.

Let’s see where we’re at next year when the tank is over. Until then, this entire thread is as premature as it is unfounded.
