What's new

Have people here bought into Conley yet?

Or am I still going to get LOL'd at for saying the Jazz made the right decision trading for him and keeping him? Has the sample size of good play still been "too small"?
I’m definitely still loling at your premature victory lap last year. And at anyone else’s inability to address head-on how much of a liability Conley was last year.

He’s been weirdly so much better this year. Emphasis on weird. Was he nagged by injuries all last year? Have we just headed down that road again this year? If so, wouldn’t that put a lol on this thread, too? Is his weirdly improved play an index of a contract-year phenomenon?

I’m going to be a bitch and say that I feel sorta entitled to Mike playing at the level we’ve seen so far this year, considering the fact that we gave up a haul and all flexibility for this version of the jazz in order to get him.

We traded Crowder, Allen and two first-round picks for Conley. That is in contention for the best trade in our franchises history.

What exactly about that trade is a high price? It’s peanuts and pennies on the dollar. You upset about the two first-round picks that wouldn’t even see the floor?

Conley absolutely puts us into contention and there is not and was not a single move out there that would be better for us.
Lmao

I’ve bought in but if we fizzle out or he can’t stay healthy it’s tough to say it was worth it. We pushed in and then they world went upside down too and we will have the two weirdest seasons ever. That’s not Mikes fault.

There’s also another act in this deal this summer when we either keep him or he leaves.

I’d say a trip to the west finals is what makes this deal a success. We look like we are headed that direction but a million things could happen to derail us.

I will say that I feel great when he is in the game and have had many times this season where I was like “okay coach let’s get Mike back in there”. That wasn’t really the case for me at all last year.

Super weird not sure how that happened. Here is the one I meant to post:

Yeahhhhh, that number is super inflated by our horrendous garbage time stats. Conley has been, on the whole, better for us this year than Mitchell. Some of that is because his time almost 100% is congruent with Gobert.

We need him contributing in order to continue at our current pace though. Mitchell is not yet ready to be a full time point.

That’s great. I love to see it. Hopefully he hasn’t entered the down pipe of nagging injuries that will affect the rest of the season in one way or another.

He won’t be here next year, though. Bank on it.
