What's new

Haven't been on this forum since 2014. Just getting back into hardcore NBA fandom. Whats been going on with the team recently?

It'll be interesting to see if you are able to get back into it. Personally I detest the modern style of NBA basketball, so that combined with the Jazz sucking has killed my interest in the sport the past couple of years.

But that could just be me getting old. I think some genuinely enjoy the 3 point spamming, lack of defense, stupid gimmicks like the in season tournament, and the blatant tanking. If you like all this you'll be in heaven.

Damn you just reminded me of Dante Exum. What a disappointment
That was the year the Jazz were smart to tank the season for franchising changing prospects like him, Andrew Wiggins, Jabrai Parker, and Joel Embiid.

Well one out of four is something I guess.

Ha. I must admit I was a true believer in the Jabari Parker train. I definitely saw him being Melo with better passing and better defense.

Good times. Was never sold on Wiggins and was kind of 50/50 on Embiid

So I saw this in the morning and it gives me hope. I also heard after all star break the NBA put out a directive, to stop calling ticky tack fouls on drives, and apparently the average offensive rating across the league went down by two points.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want the league to be as low scoring as it was between 00-04 where teams were scoring about 95 PPG, and the games were absolute slug fest, but I definitely think the leagues moved way to far in the opposite direction.

As far as style of play, I don't think there's anything changing anytime soon. Analytics favors the three point line to much.
