Hayward/Burks to play in the Indy Pro-Am

Lance is an idiot. Another example of how NOT to hone your skills. Very telling that a guy rated in the Top 25 of his class got no offers from any BCS school other than .. Cinci. None.

It's worth noting that half the posts in that thread are people getting horny about Lance Stephenson playing well. Yes, the same Lance Stephenson that wasn't allowed around the Pacers for a while after beating up his girlfriend and then went on to impress by scoring less points than shots attempted (33.3% from the field) and average about as many turnovers as assists.

I feel like theyd be much more critical and less biased if they were analyzing a player that doesnt play for their team.

FWIW, I tweeted and asked for specifics after this guy BcamONE praised about Burks. Here is the response from the official IndyProAmHoops:

His game is so smooth you gotta see it to appreciate it!!!

From MikeWellsNBA (Pacers beat writer):

"Stephenson and Utah's Alec Burks are the best players in the gym. They're scoring whenever they want and making nice passes."

"Stephenson and Alec Burks had 32 points each."

Burks finished with 33, including 5 threes being defended by Shelvin Mack and Daquean Cook. According to a guy on the Pacers board, unlike Stephenson, Burks was playing both ends of the floor. 33 isn't terribly impressive in a Pro Am summer league. Playing defense in a Pro Am summer league is impressive.

33 might not be that impressive in a regular game but when your teammate has 32 in the same game its hard to get a whole lot more than that. Only one ball on the court. But nice to hear that he is playing well not matter where he is playing. At least he is playing and working.

I remember a few months ago, I would post (along with a few others) that the Jazz making the playoffs would be much better for the team than getting some "consistently crappy 12th overall pick" after missing the playoffs.

I think it is now reasonable to retract this statement, and point out my stupidity. Alec Burks, I seriously cannot wait to see you play in Jazz uniform. 5 three pointers also excites me a little bit.

Finally some footage of a Jazz player. It looks like a college pick up game, but at least Burks is doing what he should be, dominating.
