I could not agree with you more. I am glad that you brought up OKC and I thought that I would add to your point by giving a little Seattle Supersonics/OKC Thunder history lesson. From 2007 to 2009 OKC had 4 top 5 picks with an additional #24 pick in 2008 that turned into Serge Ibaka. In 07' they drafted Durant #2 and Green #5. I bet they thank their luck stars the Portland droped the ball on Greg Oden. In 08' they got Westbrook #4 and like I mention also got Ibaka as well. Then in 09' they drafted James Harden #3.

When durant first got into the league he was abismal. He took shots he never shoudl have and the Supersonics won 20 games. I'm sure that it was hard to watch. The next year with Westbrook being added they won 23 games. In the 2009-10 season they won 50 games and made it to the playoffs where they took the then defending champions and soon to be back to back champions LA Lakers to 6 games. In 2010-11 the won 55 games and made it to the WCF where they won 2 games against the eventual champion Dallas Mavericks.

It was a rocky start for them and tough to watch them but in 4 years they went from nothing into a contender. Now lets compare that to the Jazz. Because of smart Front Office moves by KOC the Jazz got the Knicks draft pick in 09'. Most of us thought that the pick was superfluous becuase we already had a winning team that could get to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Little did we know that is was a neccessity. The Jazz then lost Sloan and traded away their only superstar in DWill. In return they got a two #3 picks in Favors and Kanter adn they got their own pick of #12 in Burks. Add to that they received an additional lottery picks that is not tied into their record at all.

What I am saying is that the Jazz might had just done what took OKC 3 years to do and done it in 2. The Jazz might not make the playoffs in the 2011-12 season (if there is one) but if they get rid of the bad contracts and give 25+ minutes to the newer/rookie players they could be in the same position as the Thunder. I have a feeling that there is a great rivally brewing between these two teams.

You can argue with me about taking a Clipper type mentallity here but I will just first say this one thing. If you are a true Jazz fan then you owe it to the organization to be patient for a couple of years whey they integrate and get these young players up to the NBA level that they need to be. Be patient.

I will close my jazzfanz account if they ever win a championship. Griffin alone won't win the Clippers anything, with your logic the Heat should've swept the Mavs, also remember the Karl Malone Lakers getting swept by the superstar less Pistons. The jazz are trying to build a team. We have plenty of young potential all-stars we need to develop those players build a supporting cast of players around them, and most importantly teach them how to be winners. What good will Griffin be to the Clippers if he never learns to win or put in a culture of winning. You are being impulsive and irrational. I thank God you aren't apart of the day to day operations of the jazz.
 
This team is ready to develop, and compete with who we have. The window in the NBA is smaller than ever to go for a title with your young core. You have to hit it early before your team gets picked apart.
Another losing season will not help us. The only weakness I see is at the 1. If we get to keep GS's pick we can draft a good PG.

Still I'm ok with going forward with Harris next year into the playoffs. ...and My concern isn't his talent or ability, it's his health.

We need to get Favors, Hay, Burks, Kanter, and Big Al seasoned for the next year.

Also, I do understand, and have been in favor or tanking or not making the playoffs to improve the roster. I think that what last year served as. We don't need another bad year.
If some of these players pan out we'll be in the mix for the west, and might get lucky. I don't think adding one more player is going to make or break us. We have enough youth, let's move forward now.

I'm not saying to tank the season I'm just saying that the Jazz need to make sure that the young guys get 25 to 30 minutes a game minimum. If the Jazz do that then I don't care what their record is. Who knows, maybe they could still be a playoff team with the young guys improving already.

The only problem is that Sterling will go cheap again. Griffin won't have the surrounding cast to make the Clippers a contender. I've been a critic of many things the Millers have done, but I do respect Greg and Gayle for not panicking when Portland signed Millsap to an offer sheet and Boozer and Korver decided not to opt out. They bit the bullet and ponied up the additional money, knowing they'd be over the luxury tax threshold for a couple of years. Sterling would have let Millsap go, not obtained a trade exception for Boozer, and then just drafted the best player at that postion to take his place. And give some credit to our GM. KOC picks up assets for players he knows aren't in the Jazz plans or will likely want too much to re-sign (e.g. Brewer). His hands were tied with Matthews - nothing you can do about an offer sheet so far out of the ballpark.

Ownership and management are far from perfect, but they've done a pretty good job of giving us successful and contending teams. Horrible officiating - and the best player in the game - cost us titles in the Stockton/Malone years. And injuries, selfishness and prima donna attitudes cost the Jazz a shot at building a contender with Boozer, AK, Deron and Memo. Now the team has been almost compleltely retooled again in just two years, with several potential young stars and some pretty good veterans. Jazz are in no danger of being long-term also-rans like the Clippers.
 
That first 3 he took was incredibly off balance for no reason. I know that has been one of his bad habits, very JR Smith-esque.
