Hayward in big games

Lately, when the Jazz had a big must-win game Hayward was nowhere to be seen on offense.

2011/12 playoffs

I game - 33% FG, 17 points
II game - 30%, 8 points
III game - 10%, 4 points
IV game - 0%, 0 points

2012/13 season

4/12 vs. MIN - 20%, 5 points
4/15 @ MIN - 40%, 8 points

He needs to find a way to stay calm, focused and contribute big. The Jazz desperately need a reliable offensive threat on the wings and if Hayward keeps diappearing in big games we are in trouble. Hope he has a big game against Memphis and gets this monkey off his back.

Hayward contributes whether he's scoring or not. Even if his shot isn't falling he's usually still assisting, defending, drawing fouls, and making smart plays. I'm not worried

in big games big al plays more.
in big games corbin pulls out all the stops eg big al playing a gazzilion minutes.
in big games corbin goes full on ALFENSE

This, also why did you just use the last 2 games? How about go back to the last 7 games and see how those numbers shake out.
i think in the last two games, after the loss to OKC, there was a much higher sense of urgency to win: the Jazz could not afford to lose any of them if they wanted to keep their playoff hopes alive. The pressure on the players was comparable to the playoff games. And palyers respond differently to pressure and expectations. I remember how Hayward really disappointed me during the last playoff series against the Spurs and I am really troubled to see that the same pattern reappears again.

He needs to play a great game against Memphis.

personally i like hayward as the 6th man extraordinaire

Me too. But Big Al completely destroyed the games of Marv and Demarre so Hayward had to be sacrificed next. He has done pretty well with until recently, when Ty apparently laid down the law "Give to my guy, Fool's Gold".
