In my opinion, if he leaves, it is a setback but not the end of the world. It would give the Jazz a lot more room to sign our other young talent well into the future. Signing Hill becomes more feasible. Etc.

Agent is not so important. He'll get a choice of several max offers and decide where he wants to play. All Jazz can offer him that others cannot is 5-year contract (assuming they do not use their only 5-year Bird exception on Gobert first).

Just because he is opting out doesn't mean he isn't going to resign. It's called getting paid. The only reason to opt in is if you're making over what the league values u at. Anyone that thought he was going to opt in is fooling themselves.
