What's new

Hey Kentucky boy (PeeKayEmm)

Tommy Lloyd played proffesionally in ......wait for it.......Germany.

Are there any German draft prospects that Lloyd could use his connections to get a few scouting reports or background checks?

Maybe Kentucky is scouting Corbin for when becomes available?

"No Comment" I laughed because even if you two were close, the nature of the buisness makes it necessary.

Does anyone know anything about Tommy Lloyd? Obviously he could give insight on Olynk, but anything else?

===================

So was this FA tryout really a coaching clinick to teach Ty & the Gang? Or an interview of sorts for a couple of openings on the Jazz staff? Interesting.

I don't know anything of Lloyd.

I suspect they brought these coaches in to help work guys out and get an outside perspective... while also watching the interactions of them with the players for a 'soft' interview. Guarantee you they would have been blown away by Antigua.. like I said, every player just loves the guy.

Could be. Good call.

This is starting to remind me of the Kentucky message board. It's unbelievable. Literally guys in the airports tracking plane tail numbers so everyone knows where Calipari is recruiting, etc. When we were hiring Calipari, a fan drove to Memphis and put a webcam in a tree so we could watch the back door of his office, live, for the moment he was officially heading to UK. That is solidified into UK's history as "The Door."

Thanks for always trying to give us the inside info you get from your connections pkm..... greatly appreciated

Tried to rep but couldn't

Oh noes! I think Antigua is a Jazz man. I texted him and asked what was up with him helping the Jazz .. his response? "No Comment"
I'd be really interested to know if bringing him in was Corbin's idea or Lindsey's? I could see the Jazz decide to not renew Corbin's contract next season, but retain a couple of the young coaches, like Jones and Antigua (if that happens).

This is the traffic camera from 1300 South by the Zions Bank Practise Facility. Is that Trey Burke on the corner?

Edit1--Dang it updates. I thought it was a screen capture. Early there was a guy who might be mistaken for Trey Burke.

Edit2 -- Somebody needs to find a web cam that points at the Best Buy parking lot.

He would be an immediate upgrade. Not that I would hire him as the HC.. but I'm certain he'd be better than what we've got.

That's painful to hear. So an assistant coach for a college team would be an immediate upgrade over a current NBA head coach. Very painful to hear. (And yet it is obvious)

Just because Enes and Antigua are very close and Calipari is helping Antigua to move up. A possible hire by the Jazz? I hope not, tbh. He's awesome and he'd be a waste behind Corbin, so I'd just as soon see him stay at UK.

He would be VERY good for team chemistry and has been with Cal for a very long time.. has learned a thing or two about how to get young guys to buy into a cohesive dream.

A waste behind Corbin? From day one of his hire we could start the fire Corbin hire Antigua campaign. And we like to promote from within anyways.
He could learn the ropes of NBA life, develop a bond with the core 4, and practice with them(which would already help them, and put his stamp on this team). How is that a waste? Are his strong suits in game strategy?

I just thought of two more questions/comments I have for you PKM.

#1 if you already have this guy's number if he becomes part of the Jazz organization you'll have a great source/connection to the team. Maybe that'd be cooler for all of us
than for you personally.
#2 and this is important. Does he know you are a Jazz fan? I get the feeling you maybe ashamed, and don't tell everyone. Please elaborate on your Kentucky connections, and how many know who your NBA team is.

Well.. I guess it would only be a waste if Corbin were retained for another few years.

His strongest suits are scouting talent, getting guys to run through walls/practice like a championship is at stake... I know he advises Cal all game long on x's and o's but I'd be making it up if I said I had a good feel for his in game play calling. I can't stress enough, though, just how powerful he is with team chemistry and getting the players to take ownership for themselves and their impact on the TEAM.

1) I know him really well. He's parties at my house about 10 - 15 times. I've partied at his a few times... etc. (Party means like grill out and have a few beers .... before anyone here starts talking coke and hookers..). So, yes, I would have a great 'in' to the Jazz like I do UK now.

2) Everyone knows my Jazz connection. They know that since I moved to Utah I had to get my daily doses of bb talk in and slowly became a Jazz guy.. they also know I had no NBA team before then... just UK. So, yeah. Btw, I'm not ashamed to be a Jazz guy at all.. but I do call it like I see it. It would be embarrassing if I were like a few (not many) here that are homers and think every player on the roster is better than they are.
