Why is it ****ed up to serve their best interest as a party? Do the voters have the parties best interest in mind? I think they did leave it up to the voters they just tried to steer them towards a better suited candidate for their party.

It should be about what their party (democrats) wants. Democrats were behind bernie in the polls.

That shouldn't matter. **** the parties. Give the people the candidates that they want. Democracy. What a joke
That is anecdotal of who you liked. Anyone who likes the candidates this year could say the same. Its an ongoing joke every election. Obama had pretty low opinion polls going into his second term. Kerry was widely considered the most boring candidate ever. The simpsons have had jokes about the two party system for years. Yes some years havent been as bad but people haven't like the candidates most elections. Our best and brightest in this Country are not becoming politicians.
That is what the general election is for not the parties election. Bernie can run in a different party or independently if he so chooses and the people can pick him. Parties should serve their own interest otherwise parties wouldn't exist. I agree we need more parties to rise up though, give us more options.

Fair enough. I have yet to live through an election where a large chunk of the population doesnt think one or both of the candidates are "evil" and I dont think I have ever seen a campaign that the other side isnt "liars." Politicians are known as liars in general and out to win elections. I dont view either candidate as evil and I think people who have bought into calling major candidates that are listening to propaganda too much. One of the biggest problems in politics here in this country is that it becomes so angry, mudslinging, propaganda oriented and venomous. I think most of our presidents have made the majority of their decisions to make the country better. We give into what people say about the opposition and we try to vilify them and dehumanize them. We examine each of their professional and personal lives and look for anything we can to hate them for or dislike about them. Instead we should focus on the issues and understand that the other side is on the other side of an issue for a reason. If you cant see the logic or the reasoning of the other sides argument you probably do not understand the issue enough. I think almost any citizen could have the country dig their lives and history and make them look like a terrible person to the population.
I do think it is getting worse but it isnt just this election and it is not new by any stretch. Really the biggest difference this year is the large support and interest in the election by young people and it not paying off for them. Obama was the first candidate to rally young people and have success at getting them to vote and it paid off for those voters. Younger generation doesn't know how to handle getting so invested in politics and having their candidate lose and spreading so much hate about the other candidates from very poor news sources. Most of peoples news source these days is Facebook feeds from **** news organizations and rumors/stories friends are telling them. Bernie also gave this new voting group a chance to see the election process which they didnt understand, which angered them.
Obama has over half the country disliking him and not approving of him as a president and he served 8 years. He was below the average approval rate for a president. But presidents generally hover around 50% approval rate. I am guessing if you did a survey about half the people would call him a liar and a large chunk of those people would say he was evil. Clinton was pretty popular and won the elections relatively easy and only got up to a 58% approval at his peak. All of the Bush election years got pretty heated and very venomous towards the candidates.

Still this is something different. GJ never polled higher than 5% against Obama and Mittens. IIRC no sitting republicans called Romney unamerican and refused not only to endorse him but went out of their way to say that they would never vote for him. Hilary is barely ahead of this dude. While it's normal for independents to be disappointed in the candidates it isn't normal for so many independents to be downright disgusted and for the nominees to have so many within their respective parties jumping ship.
