Hollinger: Jazz have bright future

Which is what we heard non-stop in 2006-07 as well.
That was before the Boston and LA superteams were assembled. The East was also extremely weak, and San Antonio, Dallas and Phoenix were all aging. The future looked extremely bright for the Jazz in 06/07.

3 point shooting is a huge concern of mine. Hayward and Bell need to up their % to at least 35%. It's sad Harris is carrying out 3pt attack at 34% (which I am actually very pleased with for his individual performance). Biggest reason I want Harrison Barnes. We need someone who can play 30 mpg, not be a liability on defense and stretch the floor.

With 2 low post threats, with Jefferson drawing his fair share of double teams, one would think we would have a more efficient shooting team from deep.

Alright must hear your trade scenario to get Barnes. At this point there is no way we are getting him straight up.

Yeah, I also know FSU is one of the worst offensive teams in the country and that was probably the best game of his life.

Fixed your quote. Yes, I live in a dream world.

Probably not, but who knows how far he may drop in the draft. Maybe MKG and Miller really raise their value as being better SF's, maybe Thomas Robinson, Sullinger, and Jones really raise their value as PF's and the teams drafting ahead of us are hungry for big men. Also, we have enough assets to move up in a draft ala what we did to get Dwill (if the Jazz are that high on any particular player).

I might rather have Quincy Miller than Barnes anyway. The Marvin Williams comparisons shake me to my bones.

I agree with your comment on three point shooting except I trust Hayward to improve and Burks will too I think and at least poses a threat. Once we take the next step, we could also go after a spot up shooter at a reasonable price as a sort of 8th man or so. So while I agree, my biggest concern is about Favors and the development of his offense.

I agree ct Barnes would be the best fit but I wouldn't complain about getting miller. Jazz might have the assets to move up in this draft.

But yeah, I completely agree with Cyrone here and the rankings agree. Jazz need some 3-pt shooting/floor spacing pretty desperately.
