What's new

Honestly, why are we winning games at this point?

I'm sure this has been brought up a bunch, so sorry for beating a dead horse. But after unloading assets at the trade deadline and after a few losses a few games ago, I'm stuck with the question of why we're winning. Which is better: having a better lottery pick, or making the play-in tournament and losing right away or maybe in the first round of the playoffs, so that all of the young players and the young coach get some limited playoff experience?

I think a better lottery pick would be the way to go. If this rebuild goes right and we hit on at least a player or two in this draft (which is more likely with a higher pick) then we won't be back in this same position, even next year. This is THE draft, from what I've been hearing forever -- so why not get the very best picks you can by dropping our remaining games this season? We're not winning the title this year, so what are we doing here?

Here is why we are winning... Hardy is a smart coach, the team has bought in completely, Walker gives us a solid defensive floor, Lauri's scoring gives us a great offensive floor, we have enough shooters and other good players that can have a big night that we stay in almost every game. There isn't a ton of pressure and the guys are responding really well at the end of games. We also have a big homecourt advantage other teams don't... altitude and bonkers fans.

That is how I would explain it.

Unless you could out **** the ********* of **** this is not the draft. Drafting in the 4-7 range would have been nice as well, but the true potential game changers are big projects

Rookies are getting better like Agbaji and Simone a ten day contract playing like an allstar starting pg.

I agree with you Chris but to answer your question, the reason we are winning is because our players and coaches are playing and coaching better than the opponents are.

I'll take this team over the one that had the most wins in the regular season, under Quin. This one is way more enjoyable. Sucks were not going to get a better pick but this team is a good problem to have.
You mean the team that won’t more games than any other or the year after? That team that was the top team in the playoffs was a pleasure to watch. The year after was poop

Also, its not a forgone conclusion that we lose in the playoffs. Get everyone healthy and we can put pressure on a team like the nuggets or grizzlies or kings. Put some pressure on them and maybe they play tight while we have no pressure and nothing to lose. Also injuries could happen to the opponent. The opponent could go cold at the wrong time and we could get hot.

One thing this team has taught me is not to count them out of any game against any opponent. I believe we have the most amount of games decided by 10 points or less in the entire league. Our net rating is on the plus side (though barely)

Maybe this team does something epically historic.
