Just now learned this and only read one page of the thread. But doesn't this make resigning Favors more likely now because it gives the Jazz more financial flexibility?

You could argue it either way. Crowder plays PF, that's Favors position. Ingles can play some PF as well. If they want to go after a max free agent in 2019, paying Favors would get in the way of that.

So in answer to your question, simply have other players take the shots hood was taking. Could work out even better if more efficient players are now taking the field goal attempts that hood was previously.

This says a lot. The jazz simply don't need Hood. If anything they are better without him. They weren't going to match and this way they get a useful piece at a good price for a guy they didn't really want or need anyway.
