Hood's Injury

Plus burks has a much improved 3 point point shot and i think he is a better passer, rebounder, and more dynamic scorer than hood and puts lots of pressure on the defense and gets to the line.

I think we will be fine.

Agree, but Burks plays pretty poor defence compared to Hood...hopefully his offence will offset it.

Yeah 46% shooting w/ 36% from deep, poor shooting. Not to mention 85% from FT line. Just awful.

As far as defense, he has a positive DBPM and is 10th in DRPM.

ESPN ranks him as 11th in usage rate among SF's. Nothing too much, he has a usage rate you would expect from a guy who is the clear cut 2nd best player on his team.

But he isnt from Eastern Europe, so I get why you hate him. Last time you probably watched him was probably in Toronto where he wasnt very good.

lol, how about you look at his career numbers and what kind of impact Gay has on team overall. See how Toronto record changed after trading Gay for scrubs for example. And if you think he some how magically changed the way he plays you are being delusional.

Different player now and asking him to play a different role.

I for one am very glad for Hood that it wasn't an ACL or MCL tear. I am sure that Dante was convinced that was the case and thinking how terrible his experience was. Hood is a player I think I will cheer for throughout his entire career. He is quiet, confident, and smooth. Many players in the league are cocky, greedy, and thugs. Hood represents to me how a professional athlete should carry himself during a game. The antics that most players have around the refs just aren't there to be seen. Lunch Paid Hood.

So, thanks to the injury God's who blessed his knee with the appropriate twist to NOT do major damage. Any injury sucks. But some are season ending and run deep into 2018 play. Rodney Hood... coming soon.

I don't think there's any doubt Rudy Gay would help the Jazz (as long as he doesn't think he's the key guy on the team -- at this stage of his career, I think that's a pretty safe assumption). But I don't think there's any way the Jazz are getting the Kings to lose their minds and ship him for 40 cents on the dollar -- at the very least not until right before the trade deadline.

And just because team improved when he got traded away doesnt make him a bad player. Utah traded Kanter to OKC and got better, and Kanter has OKC a better team. Gay was just a bad fit alongside an ISO heavy player and he got caught up in the Raptors system of "Taking Turns Isoing". You yourself have even been critical of the Raptors philosophy, but you feel comfortable blaming Rudy Gay for operating how the team obviously wanted to play? Seems unfair. In Sacramento he has taken a secondary role and scaled back his usage and attempts. His assist have gone up and he has experienced good 3pt shooting years. He has done all this in a toxic environment and stayed relatively positive, which is incredible.

And I will repeat, I'm not talking about giving up a ton of players for him. I'm just saying Joe Johnson (who is more of an ISO heavy player than Gay ever was, and continues to be) and a late 1st round draft pick or two.

I like Rudy, but he'd take an additional step back with regard to his role here. I think he is undervalued and the narrative has gone too far, but wouldn't give up a 1st rounder for him. iirc he does not like playing the four and I don't think he's quite at the JJ stage in his career where a bench role would be viewed as acceptable.

It certainly is not the worst trade idea floated around here and he has the physical tools to be devastating in a small ball type of role, but I think the mental makeup is just not there.

You wouldn't even give up 1 first rounder? If you can do Joe Johnson and a single 1st rounder that seems like a no-brainer to me. Even two first, if one of them is the GSW pick, seems like a good deal.

I doubt he matured to the point where he would accept being a role player on the Jazz. Maybe on GSW or Cavs... but on the Jazz he would think he is the best player.

Because you are his psychiatrist? JJ had never been a backup before signing with Utah. Maybe Gay would love to escape the nut house that is Sacramento and go to a team that will make the playoffs.
