I know what you're thinking. WTF is this? Well, nickkk feels he wasn't given a fair chance to defend his team, so he's written some stuff on why he thinks his team would win and we're doing the vote one more time. I know this is weird, but just bare with us. And please, vote again.
Team Hotttnickkk:
PG- Jason Kidd / Rajon Rondo
SG- James Harden / Mitch Richmond
SF- Kevin Garnett / Peja Stojakovic
PF- Dirk Nowitzki / Blake Griffin
C- Shaquille O'Neal / Andrew Bynum
Team Spycam1:
PG- Gary Payton / Deron Williams
SG- Dwyane Wade / Ray Allen
SF- Grant Hill / Glen Rice
PF- Charles Barkley / Rashard Lewis
C- Hakeem Olajuwon / Dikembe Mutumbo
Hotttnickkk's write-up:
OK Guys, this is my write-up of how my team was gonna beat Spy's team. Spy thought I was gonna be away so he posted my write-up for the previous match.
======================================
Shaquille O'Neal VS Olajuwon: Yeah Olajuwon did beat Shaq but that was wayyyyy before Shaq got to his potential. It's like saying Tayshaun Prince contained LeBron James in the ECF when LeBron was young, therefore Prince >>> Lebron. Not a chance. You have to compare players while they're both DOMINANT.
The most dominant Center Olajuwon had played against was Shaq (Magic Days). BUT!!!! SHAQ (Lakers Days) was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more DOMANT(Lakers day). Shaq will make the most use of his wide and BIG body and back down Olajuwon and score at will dunking over the rim.
Verdict: DRAW
Kevin Garnett VS Grant Hill: All I can think about is Garnett's defensive intensity at the SF in this match-up. Hill was "good" in his days (although his team never went anywhere). Garnett won't let Hill penetrate, and he surely won't let Hill hit any easy jumpers. Hill also isn't known for 3pt shooting, so Garnett would be free to help out in the paint area as well. Offensively Garnett is a legit 6'10, so he'll simply shoot over the 6'9 Hill.
Verdict: Garnett
James Harden VS Dwayne Wade: I do think Dwayne's experience and clutchness is going to come through here - so I'm giving this to Spy.
Verdict: Wade
Jason Kidd VS Garry Payton: What can so say? Two of the best PG to have ever played the game. I think if anyone can stop Payton it would be the SIZE and LENGTH at the PG of Jason Kidd. Plus Kidd has a 3pt shot that Payton doesn't. Payton though has his quickness and tenacity. I'm also giving this a DRAW.
Verdict: DRAW
Dirk Nowitzki VS Barkley: To me this match-up is the tie-breaker in this match. Dirk is a legit 7'0 PF. Barkley is at best 6'6. Dirk is going to simply rise above Barkley and shoots over him on a mid-range. He'll draw Barkley out to the perimeter where Barkley's the LEAST effective, and hit 3's , after 3's, after 3's. Barkley's rebounding would be negated by this also.
Verdict: Nowitzki
Score: Hotttnickkk 4 vs Spycam 3
Bench
Rondo = Williams
Bynum = Mutombo (Bynum's all round game VS Mutombo's limited offense)
Griffin > Lewis (Are you kidding me??? Rashad Lewis at the 4?? Griffin is going to back him down and dunk on him all game long)
Stojakovic = Rice
Richmond < Allen
Final Results: Hotttnickkk 8 VS Spycam 7
It's a close match - but I think at the end of the day, the game will be won with the starters.
- Olajuwon & Shaq will cancel each other out
- Kidd and Payton will cancel each other out
- Garnett will better Hill
- Wade will better Harden
- BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The 7'0 Dirk Nowitzki is going to be wayyyyyyy too tall and long for the 6'6 Barkley. Nowitzki is going to shoot over Barkley all game long. Moreover, bringing Barkley to the perimeter negates any rebounding that he should bring. Is Olajuwon going to be the only one doing all the rebounding????
