As I recall, it was for injury. 2006-07 was a rare year in which the regular rotation didn't have a major injury. But AK an dBoozer were out for a few games; not as many as usual :|. Oh--and it was also because Sloan didn't trust Araujo, even though he was one player who would actually play physical (and was able to slow down Duncan). Millsap was a rookie; no way he was gonna get major burn.

Boozer was out with a hairline fracture in his leg, so the Jazz wanted another "big" just in case. Amundson was brought in to be that big, not to immediately start playing. As for Araujo, the guy could not play. Yeah, he was physical, but getting fouls in a short period of time does not help the team. Millsap not getting major burn because he was a rookie? I guess playing 82 games that season doesn't qualify as getting burn, right?
