How bad/good is Cody Williams?

worst lottery pick in jazz history. he will be out of here by the end of his contract.

What?! This is a deliberate attempt to erase the greatness of the legendary Robert Whaley. The Jazz drafted him at the ripe age of 23 after the illustrious college career that included 2 years of community college and 2 years at the NAIA Division II schools (where in his junior year he - as a big man - posted the season stats of 6 PPG, 2 RPG on the 35% shooting. After scoring 49 points total for the Jazz in 2005-06 he could not find a place on any team in Europe/China and had to play in the Dominican Republic. Two years after leaving the Jazz and 3 years after being drafted he finished his basketball career and embraced the life of petty criminal.

We can all laugh at Cody but even if he completely bombs and washes out of the NBA he can certainly start a long and productive career in Europe.

Lottery pick is the keyword you should read

That's true. I would still defend Whaley as the worst pick in the Jazz history though. And, given that the Jazz picked in the lottery only 9 times in their history, being the worst lottery pick is not such a big accomplishment. I mean, the 3rd best player that the Jazz drafted in the lottery was, probably, Ronnie Brewer.

We can draft Whaley's kid as he played at UNLV last season. This will complete the circle.

i'm only going to judge when he gets to the age his brother was coming into the league so couple of years But man he needs to show something this year at least

Goran Sutton is the worst pick in my lifetime and I would argue worse than Whaley

Drafting a dude who averaged 11 ppg, has a super slow motor, and is super skinny just because his brother is good for OKC is the dumbest reason ever.
That's not the reason lmao. He was a top ranked recruit and has extreme length. The skinny angle is way overblown (not that he isnt skinny, but I dont think being skinny has anything to do with him not being good). He started the season at 190. He must have cut weight for the combine to run drills better. He will get bigger.

Exactly. I think he has talent and potential. We just need to hope he has the drive and the grind to actually reach his potential.
