How bad/good is Cody Williams?

I've gone from having very little hope in Cody to having some optimism that he can thrive in a 3 and D role for us. He was decent last year defensively and seems to be putting in the work to get bigger and stronger. It will probably be at least a couple year process to get to his ideal weight but even adding 10 to 15 lbs of muscle can do a lot for a players confidence. In the pictures and videos posted recently he looks noticeably bigger so I'm looking forward to seeing him in person tomorrow.

Everyone knew he was skinny and physically underdeveloped coming into the league. He can be an adequate team defender if he adds strength and physical presence.

The real shock was how offensively limited he was as a rookie. It turned out he could only score in certain situations, which he was rarely put in. How his offensive game develops will go a long way to determining how viable he is as a player. He needs to shoot and score well enough to stay on the floor.

it may be that people are feeling a tad optimistic because they haven't seen him play in a few months. the stink may be wearing off a little. let's hope that isn't the case.

The thing for me is that I don't really care as much about him offensively other than the hope that he can develop into a solid spot up 3pt shooter. As a top 10 pick you are hoping for a guy that can create for himself and others offensively but now with Ace the only I want from Cody is 3 and D. I'm looking at his development in a far more narrow scope now and hopefully he can develop into something in that smaller role.

I believe Cody Williams game sucking so hard is actually responsible for global warming and the war in the middle east.

Today was GOOD Cody Williams. The majority of the people in this thread can get bent.
5-12 from the field (42%), 2-6 from 3 (33%), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 14 points, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover, plus minus of zero in 25 minutes. Not bad at all. Which is good for Cody.

I was pleasantly surprised by his ok play out there.

He looked decwnt in SL last year. I think the removal of Clarkson and Sexton will give him more opportunity and two older players fone he often deferred to. Hope he steps up.

Baby steps, but steps none the less. He just needs time. (Said with fingers crossed.) I really hope it works out for him. To shut up the critics if nothing else.

I thought he looked comfortable and fast attacking with the ball in hand. But if he gets the slightest bump by the defender then he gets knocked off balance. His slight build is definitely detrimental right now. Not sure he can do much about that this season.
