How close is Trump to being a modern-day Hitler? I have had several articles arise in my various news feeds, one that sums things up very well was in the Guardian, although they are far from my preferred news publication, hence why I do not quote them very often. But in this article they lay out the similarities based on a book by a professor of German in England. Here is the article

Keep in mind this is even a few months old and I would wager Trump is waxing more fascist in recent months, attempting to be the populist that controls the electorate rather than being a good politician with an actual plan of any kind. Of course Hitler had a devastating plan that no one found out about until it was practically too late to do anything about it. Does Trump have a similar plan? I guess time will tell.


Anyway, what are your thoughts?



I do ask one thing, please try to bring evidence of some kind, not just endless xitter posts and memes that say nothing in the end, or just throw opinions around that could be summed up as "nuh-uh" or "uh-huh".

They aren't remotely close to each other. Even the authors of your linked paper noted that fact when they said "their political strategies ultimately differed greatly". The paper you linked was comparing Hitler's speeches to Trump's speeches, not comparing the two men as you have done in your poll.

Hitler was a Communist who was in the German Communist Party until he had a falling out and decided to pursue a different kind of socialism. Hitler said that Communism and Capitalism were both Jewish plots. Hitler's socialism was neither Communism or Capitalism, but is what is referred to as Third Position.

Trump is a Capitalist. He builds buildings and sells gold shoes. He sells steaks and his own brand of bibles.

On the chart, Trump is someplace between Conservatism and Neoliberalism. Hitler is way over near the end in between Mussolini and Stalin. I also don't think Kamala is Hitler but if closeness is what you're after, technically Kamala would be closer to Hitler than Trump would be.

It's extremely embarrassing that people are so uneducated that they compare a guy who killed over 6 million Jews and started a war that killed over 72 MILLION people to Trump. I'm sorry but these people are flat out stupid uneducated melodramatic people.

But as a Trump supporter, I'm curious... Who exactly are we goint to kill? This has baffled me for years. Wasn't it Democrats that shut down schools in their anti-Jew riots just a few months ago?
