New guy I work with directly says his wife has all the symptoms and that she's going to get tested.
Then he says it'll suck if she has it because he'll have to go stay with his parents for a while.
I'm like, "if she has it you almost definitely have it!" He says, "I don't feel sick." He's not taking any more than the most basic precautions. I figure that if his wife is sick then he's sick and everyone on our shift that work out of the same shop are sick, myself included. I've been very vigilant, but I think I'm the only one on our shift who is.
I took a call this evening and ultimately it involved climbing into some equipment to check positioning of mechanical systems that have gone out of alignment and need to be fine tuned back into position and able to run at high speeds without smashing yogurt cups. Guy I work with decides to help (didn't ask or want his help) and so now he's trying to crawl into the same tight spaces and touch all the same stuff and annoyingly try to point out 15 different things to me while I'm trying to adjust one thing at a time to bring it all back into alignment. It's the type of job I VERY VERY VERY much prefer to do by myself, going step by step. It takes time, but this is one of the things I'm better than most other people I work with at doing.
I had to walk away and ultimately decided I was going home for the night. If these ****ers aren't going to take this seriously I'll take the occurrence and hope that if his wife is COVID-19 positive we know by Monday so that we can all get tested and figure out what needs to happen.
