It depends on how many quarters I have on my person.
I don't tip.
I don't tip just because society says I have to. If someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job.
If someone brings me my food, other than handing it over a counter or through a window, I tip. If it's nothing more than putting it on a tray or handing it through the drive-thru window, no. I tip the pizza delivery guy. Never thought about tipping an appliance delivery guy. I would never tip a Direct TV installer though. I never get a tip for doing service work in a house, why should I tip somebody else for doing it for me?
Server wages in Utah are $2.13 an hr.
I tip at least 20 percent.
You'd be surprised how cheap most restaurant eating Utahns are. Then again, SL County servers are typically tipped out better than those in Utah County... When one works up in SL County the tip percentage usually hovers between 18-20 percent. In Utah County, all the Zoobies, gigantic Mormon families, and ultra conservatives are notorious for 10-15 percent tips. Receiving an avg tip percentage of 18 percent for most servers is a really good shift in Utah County...
I once served a family. Both parents were about 26-28 years old (he was at BYU Law School), already had 3 kids, ate like none other (and spilled a lot of the food on the floor), and then ended up tipping $3 bucks on a bill over 50 bucks. Nice job.
Waitressing is the number one occupation for female non-college graduates in this country. It's the one job basically any woman can get, and make a living on. The reason is because of tips.

Is candrew serious? wtf
The picking up pizza thing gets me too, I usually don't tip, but feel weird signing a receipt and marking zero on the tip line.
Random people I tip:
Car wash dryer off'r guys= a couple bucks.
Discount tire put air in my tires guy= a couple bucks.
How much do you guys tip if you get a drink from the bar? Like, if you walk up to the bar and just get a beer. I just give them a dollar each drink I get. If the person is coming to my table or something I give them more, maybe thats not normal though.
Only job I ever had where I worked for tips was as a cart boy at ThanksGiving Point when I was in high school. I worked for free golf and tips, no hourly wage. What was weird, is some of the people that would have me do the most for them, like clean their clubs, or drive them out on to the course to meet up with their group, would tip me the worst or just not tip at all. Then, there was a lot of people that didn't want me to touch their clubs a do anything for them, but would slip me $5. The worst offender was Steve Young. I spent about 20 min, cleaning his clubs and running him around the course trying to find his group, then brought him out some golf balls and tees and stuff. No tip. F you Steve!!!
Some people haven't seen Reservoir Dogs?
Servers in Utah are paid $2.13 per hr, no raises or bonuses. Their "reward" for high sales is typically felt in their scheduling (usually the schedule they need because of school or their other job) and sections (this is a key. Depending on your section you could end up working 5+ hrs and not even make min. wage), NOT an increase in salary. Good service is nothing more than a pat on the back from management since they assume that the good service reward will be shown in the tip. So if you aren't tipping, they're essentially working for you at $2.13 an hr.
Keep that in mind next time you eat out and stiff the server for "just" doing their job.
I usually tip a flat $5 for pizza delivery.
At the STG nite out I tipped the waitress $75 on a $125 tab. Because she took excellent care of us, I want her to always take excellent care of us, and also .. well, nm.
Is candrew acting like a dude from Reservoir Dogs or something?
