I wouldn't trade Marc for Pau. The Grizzlies came out pretty good from that trade, at the end of the day.

If the Heat win it all this year, you'll be right. Having the best players is a huge chunk of it, but those best players have to play well together and be on the same page.
The other big piece we're missing: Moving the team to a big city. Of course I don't really want that, but it is kind of true.

I think you can build a championship team with out being in a big market. The jazz could make a few moves and be a play off team in 2 years. Get some good young talent in the draft for the next 2 years. Make a trade or 2. Look at some aging talent that is looking for one last whoorah.
Examples:
Young talent
Hayward for starters
Biyombo ( great defender )
Jimmer great bench scorer specialist
Gilchrist, rivers ( going with NBA drafts rankings for next year)
Or a trade for a player like Flynn or Brandon rush
Players in their prime
Granger
Iguadala
Kaman
Josh smith
Aging vets
Antwan Jamison
Stephen Jackson
Caron butler
Just to name a few.

This. Maybe even some great ones and a good coach. Then you have to win lots of games. Typically, the team that wins the most games in the playoffs wins the championship, so I say just win the most games in the playoffs.

The thread title got my interest. After reading everyone's responses I seriously think that you hockey fans need to go back to hockey. Im reading s*** like, "who ever has the best players should win". Over and over and over again. Really? You would think that was an obvious answer, because its so generic and stupid. But anyone that knows the game of basketball knows that that covers only half of it. Look at the playoffs. Spurs have been defeated by the Grizzlies, and the Lakers have been swept by the Mavericks.
The Jazz need to make some moves and they need to gain some heart. Harris isnt the answer for point guard. Miles isnt the answer for shooting guard. Yes we need to improve our players and make some changes, but if you have the best talent in the league that doesnt mean you going to win it all. Look at Miami, they have the talent that they should have beat the bulls single season record of 72 games, and they didnt even come close. It takes heart to win.
