I can't .. I agree.

Then we better pick Gordon, if it comes down to that. For all his flaws, I definitely think he has a higher ceiling than Randle. I don't want to waste our tank pick on a player with a low ceiling.

I think Vonleh could be a sleeper pick at #5. If he shoots well and shows the ability to play 2 positions like a Lamar Odom or Chris Bosh, he could be an attractive pick. He might be able to play some at the 3 using his length to contain perimeter players somewhat. I'm not sure what Randle would look like trying to guard SFs out on the perimeter.

I don't like the idea of either guarding most SF's.. but vonleh's length certainly gives him the edge.

Randle is an offensively minded undersized PF who can't defend, but is good at rebounding.

Kanter is an offensively minded oversized PF who can't defend, but is good at rebounding.

Kanter>Randle. Rabdle would be a failed draft.

The Jazz need an SF, and a bigger/better defending PG. If Parker declares and we pick 5th and the top 4 are Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Exum--we should grab Smart or A. Gordon (someone who has a better chance at being an SF).

Currently our PFs are:

Favors
Kanter
Evans (better suited as sf)
Marvin (better suited as sf)
Murphy
Thomas

We really don't need another PF, unless they were named Kevin Love

I agree with this. If we get Randle, we might as well have just kept Millsap.

Millsap would've been better. Not knocking Randle, but Millsap can actually hit the 3. Keeping Sap would've allowed us to draft yet another player/ fill another need, like shooting.

Butke, Neto, v. Miciic
Burks, Stauskas
Hayward, Marvin, McDermott, Evans
Millsap, Kanter, Murphy, Evans
Favors, Gobert

That team doesn't win any championships, but neither does one with Randle substituted for Millsap and missing the shooters.

Randle's ceiling just doesn't seem that high to me. His athleticism is underwhelming, as is his length... his bully ball won't be as effective in the NBA...

Make me more excited about him, peeks.

If we put Randle to 1 side, I just can't get excited about Gordon is his ceiling is Shawn Marion or AK47.

The defense and athleticism is nice, but I would need more from him offensively.

Agree 100%.

How about his Blake Griffin like dunks. A. Gordon is the kind of player who could succeed without a true position because he is just so gifted defensively, athletically, and has a very high BBIQ. He is a baller.

Rabdle's ball handling, athleticism, and perimeter game were all overhyped in high school. He really has none of those. Lack of athleticism, with lack of shooting, with lack of size, with lack of defense isn't anything to be excited about. It's something to be scared of.

How about this then, let's say we can somehow get Stauskus:

Favors
Kanter
Randle
Stauskus/Burks
Burke

Plenty of 3pt shooting with Burke and Stauskus. Kanter can slim down and play stretch 4. That leaves Randle & Favors in pick/roll action & slashing/off the dribble. Randle will draw double team all day long and pass it out to Kanter/Stauskus/Burke. Everyone's long for their position. Fill the rest of the team with quality vets.

I think it's appropriate to re-link this video analysis I did here:

Alright guys, here's my weekly "Randle got KILLER *SF* SKILLZZZ" video analysis.

Hope you guys enjoy them, as much as I enjoy bringing them to you.

- 0.43min: Randle again starting from the 3pt line, dribble penetration, rises up and banks it in off the glass
