I think that you brought out some good points. Thunder will be the team to beat. But what I really want to happen is after next season Howard leave the Lakers and sign with Atlanta leaving the Lakers without Bynum or Howard. Lol, a boy can wish can't he.

Well, they look good on paper. We can only hope age plays a factor with Kobe/Nash, chemistry issues, or injuries take them down.
Remember it took Miami's dream team a little while to figure it out.
Are they better than the Thunder or Spurs? Personally I see the Thunder as a step above them, and the Spurs tied.

I think the Jazz have a solid starting five and potentially one of the best benches in the NBA. The WC is deep, but I'll be disappointed if Utah doesn't finish in the 48-52 win range (barring major injuries). Just matching last year's winning percentage would put the Jazz at 45-37.
Do we match up with the Lakers this season? Probably not. But you never know. If the starters can hang close, the bench should outperform LA. The glaring weaknesses we've had in the past have been addressed (size disadvantage, poor perimeter defense and lack of outside shooting). Yes, I'm a homer, but I think the NBA is underestimating the Jazz.

Dwight's actually not that scary to me. The problem is Nash/Gasol running pick-and-rolls and opening up Kobe and Dwight for easy shots.
The Jazz can possibly compete with the Lakers and give them a hard time and maybe even take a game or 2 from them, but at the end of the day, the Lakers are serious title contenders and the Jazz are a young up-and-coming team with a ton of question marks after this season. That said, I love seeing the Jazz beat the Lakers in any context as much as anyone.

Exactly. Nash is the game changer for this team. The Lakers are switching to the Princeton offense, and with all the cuts and screens, Nash is going to pick teams apart. It will be interesting to see how Kobe fits within the new system...

My problem with this theory is LA won't need to guard the perimeter that effectively with Dwight in the middle. I love Bynum, but he's nowhere near Dwight's class inside. And when you take away OKC's ability to penetrate, they're much more beatable. Miami did this, only they did by it by killing OKC's driving from the outside in.
Dwight actually looked pretty sheepish in Orlando last year. Maybe he'll go all out with the Lakers, but if he gets a couple fouls, the Lakers don't have much defense anymore.
That team looks so old to me right now that I get the sense teams like Utah, the Clippers and Denver will have nights where they run them out of the building.

Injuries are the only Laker killer right now, I agree with that. But Dwight is the best center in the game and in his physical prime. So long as he's fully healthy, he takes enormous pressure off the other guys.
He was also pretty blatantly mailing it in.
Nash might be the bigger deal right now but he's also almost 40. Dwight is going to be a persistent problem over the next 7-8 seasons.
