I feel awful for hayward....that leg break...

I'm glad to see that Snyder and the Jazz players don't feel the same as a few of the people on this thread.

Snyder said he wasn’t watching when Hayward was injured, but within a minute, he got a text from his point guard Ricky Rubio about it.

“I turned the television on and I had an emotional reaction,” he said. “You feel awful for him, you really don’t know how to respond. I reached out to him and told him with every bone in my body I know he’ll overcome this. He hit me back after a little while and said, 'thanks coach.' I’m not his coach right now, but when you have a player and you become close to him, that relationship is always there. Everyone on our staff and players felt the same way.”

Joe Ingles was pretty close to Hayward and said he called him later in the evening.

“I wanted to reach out and make sure he was all right and let him know we’re thinking of him and hopefully he’s back out there as soon as he can,” Ingles said. “Obviously he was pretty down and disappointed, but he’ll work out what he needs to do to get back and no doubt he’ll be back better than before.”

So if the posters offering sympathy on this site are just doing it to be seen, what are the people loudly proclaiming how little they care doing?

I feel bad for him and wish him well, but millionaires with broken ankles are pretty far down my "pray for" list.

I would like to take this opportunity to send out my prayers to Nikola Mirotic. Apparently he was sent to the hospital after an altercation with Bobby Portis during practice.

Just thought I'd post this here since there seems to be so many people concerned for NBA player's welfare.

TBH, I'm a little surprised with all the concern for injury here that nobody else has mentioned this. With all the thoughtful, caring and loving people here, it strikes me as odd that it hasn't come up.

Weird.

:D Exactly.

We all post to be seen, for sure. It would be a boring world if everyone kept their opinions to themselves.

Maybe someday we will all be less angered by others' opinions. In the far distant future. Empathy is hard.

Oh, and my initial reaction on hearing about the Hayward injury was sympathy. Pretty sure that doesn't make me a better or worse person than anyone else.

I'm just grateful our team isn't injuring each other.

Glad our guys reached out to him... that's what friends do

Can I just point out that the thread about our very own Dante getting hurt and missing the season has 32 pages in more than 10 days but the thread about Hayward has 28 in less than 24 hours?

Jazz fans are certainly a nice bunch being so concerned about a former player who did us dirty but only moderately concerned about our very own 22-year old who has already had a season-ending injury in his short career.
