Yah, also we can go over the salary cap to sign him, so I don't really see a reasonable scenario where he's not on the Jazz next season.

I wonder what he's gonna get. I wanted to darft him last year, and I'm still pretty intrigued by him as a prospect. It's a bit troubling that he got so buried in Houston.

Right now, I'd pay the extra money for Carroll and wouldn't look back. But if Carroll is unobtainable, then K.J. is on the list of next guys to pursue.
 
Backup center isn't too hard to search for.

Best case is Tyson Chandler.

Other options are Alexis Ajinca, Brandon Wright, Jeff Withey (RFA), Jeff Ayres, Amir Johnson, Kyle O'Quinn, Cole Aldrich, etc.

That's kinda the problem with free agency this year. We don't really have any room to convince anyone to come here. Between Hayward, Burks, Hood, and Ingles now, there isn't many minutes to go around.

Personally, I think I'd rather take a chance on KJ than role with Burks again. I was even a big Burks hopeful at one time, but when I look at his game, I'm not sure it's what we want. Mainly because his defense is pretty sorry. He has really poor technique. He plays too close and he's kinda weak. At least that's my last impression of him. Maybe he can get better.

I think with KJ he has more potential to be a good defender and probably a better shooter too.

I could be wrong about Burks though, he might have a big year next year. Who knows. I've been high on him before because of his skills around the basket.
 
I'll take Burks over KJ.

I also think we can lure a wing here in FA. That starting spot next to Hayward is open, IMO. I hope DeMarre takes it.

I've been thinking Cole Aldrich could be a sneaky get. He's been labeled a bust, but last year he showed some things that led me to believe he might be better than we thought. He might just be coming into his own now and maturing.

When the Knicks played us, remember he had a really strong game against us. He was the one guy Rudy struggled with because he has that old fashioned game with his hook shot.

Also, Cole fills up the box score when he gets minutes. Including a lot of assists. He's a pretty good passer. He would add a dynamic to our team that we don't have.

I kinda think New York was trying to hide him a little last year so they could get him cheap.
 
Call me crazy but I think we need to make a run at Jimmy Butler. Even if it's just an offer sheet. Butler and the Bulls could be headed for a nasty breakup. Last week I read on roto world that butler is upset that that the Bulls are still considered Rose's team and is put off a little the way Chicago dealt with him in extension talks. I know it's not likely, but u never know. Signing Butler probably puts us into the championship talk for next year. Thought I'd throw that out there.
 
Aaron Baynes is a RFA. I wonder what it'd cost to pry away the Banger. I'd love it if he backed up Gobert; they could form a demoralizing one-two punch.

offer Jimmy Butler a toxic contract that if the bulls match will completely screw them this year and maybe next. Then offer Hood, Burks and burke in a SnT. Bulls have to take it
