I Still Support Hayward

Hayward has played well in 6 of the first 8 games of the season...so that makes Cy a "prophet". LOL. We've seen these hot streaks before from Hayward, remember the entire month of January last season? Big question remains, can he sustain it for a season?

I will say that I do see more confidence out him and his added upper body strength definitely helps him make shots in traffic that he'd normally miss last season. Making his first ever game winning buzzer beater vs. Cleveland is also a huge confidence booster.

Time to dig up my old sig with all the Burks>Hayward quotes?

Pls do. There are so many of them, honestly. I've countlessly had to bring up the "If Burks > Hayward then why does Team USA not give a single **** about Burks, and never bothers inviting him to anything?" point.

In pgab defense, derozan is averaging 22.7 ppg, 2.3 steals, 5 rebounds, 2.5 assists for a team that is 6-1 and first place.

So while hayward had been awesome, it's not like derozan has sucked..... and derozan is cheaper (that has to be considered)

DeRozan is awesome, and his deal is awesome.

Love this post as it's filled with a modicum of common sense. With that said, I completely hope that Cy is 100% correct and that Hayward turns into that player we need and want. Consistency will be key, as well as clutchability, but if he improves, the franchise improves and that brings us one step closer to that elusive championship.

Hayward's MO has been slow starts to the season. This season is definitely different in that regard. Lets see him put it together this year. I think he will.

I've always thought Hayward's ceiling was (at best) the second best player on a contender, and stand by it. His contact was a little scary, but he's living up to it so far. He's really taken a step forward. So stoked. Hope he keeps it up.

Now we just need Exum to live up to his potential and become our top dog. Hopefully it doesn't take toooo long. He seems to be a fast learner.

We need to go grab a top dog and then hope Exum turns into another one. With Hayward and Favors alongside them, Championship.

That team would be insanely good. If exum turns out like we hope, and we get even another borderline allstar, we could be awesome.

Yep.

Lindsey has said that the Jazz will be super aggressive in free agency next summer and believes they can attract a high caliber free agent.

Marc Gasol? He's accustomed to playing in a small market, so maybe he'd be willing to sign with Utah? We'd have to offer him a 5 year deal though, which could be risky with a player who's approaching 30. Although, his game is definitely one that will age well. His passing and defense would obviously fit well with the identity Snyder is trying to build for this team.

Idk, I'm just thinking out loud.
