Disagree. You want your pitcher to concentrate on pitching. If he walks, or gets an obvious hit, then fine. But, you don't want them trying to stretch a single into a double and you don't want your prize pitching possession to pull a Prior (illiteration intended) and be out for half the season when for the first time in its history people actually care about your franchise. Save his legs and save him for his next start. This is the potential face of the franchise.
Historically pitchers in the NL are expected to concentrate solely on pitching. I watched the video, there was nothing that drastic that I haven't seen before so as to label it "pathetic". You're grasping at an arguemnt. And if your referring to Hanley Ramirez, he plays a skill position and is expected to hustle given that he is that type of athlete. He was benched for booting (literally) a groundball and then obviously jogging into the corner to get it with runners on base who scored on the play.
