Hard to imagine Cockburn isn't an NBA player. a legit 7' in shoes, 7'4.25" wingspan, 8% body fat, solid athlete for his size, chiseled frame, legitimately skilled as a basketball player and put up big numbers in college. yeah, centers are de-valued in today's league, etc, but it just seems like there has to be a place for a guy like that in the nba even if just as a 10 minute/game back up.
Ahh yes, Araujo was the 8th pick in a draft because it was so obvious he could not play.
There are at least two 2nd round to undrafted big men like Cockburn ever year. They usually have much better shot-blocking numbers though.
The idea that a guy who just averaged 1 block per game in college is providing rim protection at the NBA level...

From what I can tell Cockburn's best skill is that he's a pretty quick jumper for a guy his weight. He doesnt jump super high, so IDK about him being an elite lob threat, but he does get up pretty quickly and runs the floor (at least in highlights) well.
Lofton was undoubtedly much much much much better than Cockburn in SL.
Cockburn is big, and he moves pretty well. He can catch and finish near the rim. He eats up space in the paint. He contests some shots and just watches others. He seems like a third-string backup right now.
