What's new

Ian Clark

Stockton showed it thru his execution on the floor and his rock hard toughness.

You make my point. Different players show their hunger different ways. Just because you don't see it in his eyes doesn't mean it's not there.

I'm hoping giving him more of a leadership role will put the "papa bear" mentality in his head. Might be easier to see.

So kind of like a more skilled Wes Matthews? I could live with that.

Actually, yeah, that is a great comparison. Although, I think Wes is stronger and more explosive. Yet, Clark is really good at those spin moves. He actually reminds me of Gary Payton in that way. Perhaps he should watch a lot of tape on him? That'd be a nice player to have. Although, I'd say to use him more in the 2-guard position. Perhaps play Burks and Clark at the same time, like when Foye and Burks played together, and played well together.

He seems to make up for the low release on his shot by a really quick release, and shifty moves to create space. If he can handle the ball and run the offense as a PG, I can see him making it. His shooting off the bench could be really valuable.

That's exactly what I noticed. It would all depend on who he is playing with. If his teammates are intelligent, and move the ball, then whatever team that is will do lots of damage in a short amount of time. I'll have to see who we end up with and I'll let you know his best lineup fit.

I mentioned him and Burks. However, if he and Trey played at the same time, then they could REALLY pressure the ball and even play full-court press. Both guys are very good at getting up on their man on keeping the pressure on them. Then, if you had Favors and either Gobert or Evans at C (mainly because there aren't that many big Cs anymore), and Hayward at the SF, then that would be an awesome defensive team that would score a ton off of their defensive play/fast breaks.
