If Gordon would get tossed for fighting back, who is supposed to respond?

I guess some could call it that. I don't. I do not think he takes it to that level.

Players who are good at doing it take it right at the line, and park it. Refs can't call anything and players hate it. Harpring was the king of this.

Hayward isn't a fighter.

Here is a trick for you. If you think you are going to be in a fight keep one hand by your face. "Scratch" your nose, or rub an ear or something. That way if you think it is going to become a fight you can throw out a hammer fist right into their nose and therby crontrol the fight and possibly escape unhamred. YOu hit them just right and their eyes will tear up or they will pass out. Then you can get away or restrain them. That is a trick that bouncers use all the time.

lol :P

That kinda crap is meant to take an opponent's mind off his game. Ignoring it and keeping his focus on the game was Hayward's best and most appropriate response. It led to a huge W for the Jazz.
Probably the coaches didn't see it, so I'm not sweatin' it.
I remember the old Celtics under Red Auerbach were full of tricks to distract opponents from their normal game. Gamesmanship is just part of the game, so long as there's no intent to injure a guy.

I think Hayward acted appropriately. I think his teammates should have sent a message. It did not even have to be West directly.

Also did anyone notice Dirk jawing at Hayward after West poked him. Hayward kept walking away and he circled Dirk and Dirk was jawing at him.

No he wasn't. He was a dirty, slimy player. Watching him made me embarrassed half of the time. Made KG look like King Kong.

Hayward initiated it all with a high elbow to the face trying to create separation as he starts running down the court on the fast break...West waits for Hayward to make his cut towards the hoop, then throws his arm/elbow into Hayward's chest, which the ref sees this time and makes the call.

West walks directly over to Hayward and put his finger right up against that little flap just over the earhole and pushes on it, forcing Hayward's head forward. Growing up where I did, this was a move my Grandma would do on me or my brother if either of us were getting out of line. It's not a wet willie or anything, just a hard shove to a "semi"sensitive area of the body. It would definitely get our attention and if done right, would hurt pretty bad when I was a kid.

I see this as something just as bad as throwing a punch at someone, it was a pre-meditated, aggressive move made in retaliation. IMO, West needs to be forced to sit atleast the next game and be fined a good amount for this ********.

Evans should have come off the bench. Come on man, you're not getting in the game, at least get on the floor.

HOMIEZZ 4EVA!
