What's new

If Gordon would get tossed for fighting back, who is supposed to respond?

I'll take that type of competitor over guys not giving a 'crap' any day.

I guess I agree, but there are far more degrees of what a player brings than those poles. I'll take a guy that can play over a guy whose only contribution is being a bitch. And I'd like to be proud of my players. There's a way to be tough and get under other players' skin without throwing elbows or trying to injure people (Malone). Malone's superb basketball ability makes up for a lot of ****tiness as a human being, on the court, but ESPECIALLY off of it.

Regardless of what provoked it, I was disappointed Hayward didn't respond. A double-technical is not the worst thing in the world if it shows you're not going to walk away from every conflict you face. I know I'm more old school, but I don't think West should be suspended and thought an ejection was 50/50...but Hayward and the Jazz have to get PO'd once in awhile when someone does something cheap to them. Still young, but teams know they can punk the Jazz and that's a tough rep to shake once you have it.

Karl Malone did many similar things KG or Harpring did. Kobe did as well. Players like that will test the boundries and then go out and try to get away with as much as the referees allow them to. You love it when those guys are on your team and hate it when you're playing against them, but it's competing and using any means necessary to try to win. I'll take that type of competitor over guys not giving a 'crap' any day.

Well if you consider the game when to 3 OT's, every point mattered. That is giving up a free point.

I do agree it is nice to see players stick up for themselves and show punk like West a lesson, but at the same time they have a job to do, and that is win basketball games. Some dude sticking his finger in your ear isn't something to get all upset over like a fake tough guy. Take the free point and let your game talk (his final state line pwns West's).

Can you imagine what would have happened had someone done that to Carmello Anthony? A full scale riot, cap-pings and all....would have occurred!

You mean he'd take a swing and runaway like this, funny how both Crymelo and JR Smith are now in Knicks uniforms:

Y'all are making a mountain out of a molehill. The guy stuck a finger in his ear. A finger in his ear. If I'm a player, Im taking that 10 out of 10 times to get a free point. It's not like West punched him, or tried to injure him, he stuck a finger in his ear. I'm sure everyone was just like "Wtf, did that really happen?".

I'm with Cyrone on this. You don't get mad at a child when they do random things like this even when they're trying to get under your skin. Gordon treated West like the child he is. Plus I think that showing your fight during game action is much more important than acting like a high-school kid who as looked at wrong.

I think after something like that, all he has to do is talk great smack. Stuff like "you're mind is easier to get into than your mother."

Perhaps already mentioned through 7 pages of discussion, but did anyone else West mouth, "Bitch, white boy..." at the end? I think it's funny that he's saying that when he did what he did. What a punk... how can anyone like that be taken seriously?
