What's new

If Irving and Kanter are gone & we're on the clock...

We take this guy then celebrate like we were the Miami Heat.

Damn, I'd be happy.

I don't get all this hoopla for this Washington trade. I don't really want to go into next year with half of our roster having a total of 2 NBA seasons under their belt.

Amen to that. Why do people want to trade away a potential Pierce or Wall for a bunch of CJ's and Bell's?

GVC-
Also, if Millsap can hack it at the 3 (I think he can), there's plenty of time for a third big.

If Sap is a legit 3 then JV equally would be able to put in 20+ minutes. I happen to believe that unless Williams is drafted it will be SF by committee in Utah. Sap/CJ/Hayward/Evans, Sap plays @ 10-15 at 3, and @ 20-25 at 4.

I'd hate this because I've been very hot and cold on Williams and how he translates to the NBA and I feel like if he's there, you just can't pass.

I'm not so sure KOC doesn't trade the pick if Williams falls. Williams could generate a few more "heist" type deals. On lesser fronts, Washington might trade the 6 and 18 for Williams. If KOC likes who he can get at the 6 and has a back of the draft guy, that might be enticing. Alternately, Williams might pry loose a star type player from another team in a bigger deal. But I wouldn't be upset to take Williams.

I think Williams is the "star type player". I think they take him and run.

Everything I've seen tells me he has an inate ability to create offense for himself. At the very worst, Williams will be an scorer off the bench. I think there's a better chance that he'll be a Carmelo type player.

This. He reminds me a lot of Melo, where you can isolate him and he can beat guys of the dribble with that nasty jabstep. Although if we do get him I don't think Millsap will have much of a future here. But having said all that, I think there's a 2% chance that he falls to us. We'll be drafting a Wildcat people. -- Crap Williams is a Wildcat.

we need shooting, size, PG and SF, so no matter what happens KANTER IRVING or WILLIAMS will be ours. Based on what cavs and wolves do we will draft.

I think KANTER and FREDETTE is best scenario.
Williams and SG (3 need)
Irving and SF Singleton or Leonard will be nice.

we'll see 9 days left.

I definitely don't think Williams is in the same class as Melo. Not even that close, really. The David West comparisons I can buy. But yeah, if you think he has that kind of ability to play the 3 you take him and don't look back.

I feel kind of stupid posting this again, but there are 144 minutes available at the 3, 4 and 5. That's more than enough PT for Jefferson, Favors, Millsap and Williams.
