What's new

If the Jazz has the guts to trade Conley, then...

Yer right. To be clear, I wasn't saying I like the deal. I think the lesson here is there is no easy fix. Moving Conley with that contract would be tough, and the return questionable. As much as I didn't like the trade last February or again in June, I think the Jazz are going to have to ride it out.
It definitely appears that way. I think Conley will improve, and the system as a whole will be fine. But the the chatter about a championship was dada.

Maybe Delladova would heal the hearts of Exum fans. Another Aussie frequently falling to the floor....only difference is Delladova gets up on his own afterwards.

Plus Conley is highly regarded around the league. It would stay in the minds of a lot of players if the Jazz cut him off now, or appear to disrespect him in any way. Jazz got to play this careful.

I still think he will come around. I hope so anyway. I was one of the few that was against the trade knowing how often he gets hurt. But what’s done is done. I now hope he heals and plays better and trust in that he will.

I never doubted he was a good player. I just doubted that paying a guy that much for his injury track record was madness. But here we are. So I hope for the best.

Delli does not heal he injures. I wouldn't want that cheap shot artist practicing against our guys.

Completely correct - Conley was the move that bought Utah credibility in the free agent market. No doubt his presence factored in the Bogie, Green and Davis signings.

People need to just chill. Conley will come around - through the years his splits consistently show him getting better as the season goes on.

As I remember, about 1/4 to 1/3 of the board was against the trade before and right after it took place.
I think it was actually more. I was not on board all the way from the first rumors last year at this time. We spent way too much to get an aging heavily over-payed undersized ball-dominant guard. Way too much. And now we are stuck and, frankly, playing better ball with him not playing. This sucks.

We are not playing better without him
