For a lot of us, the biggest thing on our minds is the possibility of landing a star in the 2014 draft to add to our already spectacular young core, giving us a legitimate chance at winning championships down the road. With the potential departure of all the vets, this might actually be a possibility. However, some might argue that a team that features the C4 in big roles would be better than what we're currently putting on the court. So, here's the question we should be asking ourselves: how many games do you think we would win next season, if we let the majority of the vets walk and don't sign anyone significant?
This is what I think the team could look like next year:
Mo - Draft pick (Burke? McCollum? MCW?)
Hayward - Burks
Carroll - Marvin
Favors - Random vet - Evans
Kanter - Draft pick (Olynyk? WCS? Austin?)
We could debate about whether Mo/Carroll will be back etc. but I think this is a good basic idea of what the team could look like, if we really gut the team.
How many games does this team win? Do we land a top 5 pick? Are we fighting for one of the bottom playoff spots? Or are we somewhere in between?
