we will be in the playoffs. we own the tie breaker on the mavs and the lakers. and both those teams are being projected to have a record of 41-41 aswell. do we really want the playoffs. would love to see 4 more jazz games!! but do the cons out way the potential pros?

I think .500 ball is a bit of a pipe dream a this point.

Jazz own tiebreakers over *both.* RT @ESPNNBA: Lakers, Mavericks and Jazz are now all projected to finish 41-41 --...........&........... The NBA on ESPN

We have 11 games left so we have to go 6-5 to end the season at .500. With most of those games at home it sounds very doable, but the way the Jazz have played lately doesn't instill much confidence.

see and this is how i feel to. i think we can win most of these, ive been wrong before, but we play good ball at home most days.

I heard an argument that getting Favors 80 more playoff minutes will be worth it in the long run. I don't agree. I think we will see a heavier use of the vets if that happens.

We are capable of .750 ball but certain people, both on the team and coaching staff, need to get their head back in it and act like a proffesional.

GO JAZZ!!!

My biggest argument against this is I think that getting to the playoffs will give the franchise and coaching a staff a false sense that the team can compete.

Maybe, although I think barely getting the 8th seed again wouldn't fool Lindsey at least.

I thought making the playoff last year was worth it because Favors really came alive. I believed at the time, incorrectly, that Favors's playoff performance marked the changing of the guard and that Favors would surely be a starter next year.

Now I believe making the playoffs last year was a waste because we never built on the development momentum Favors had coming out of that. Another Corbin sucks situation.

So you vote no to the playoffs then. Is that right?

I would hope that it wouldn't but I also agree with Gameface that I thought the way that Favors took charge defensively in last years playoffs would mean that he would at least get more playing time. Instead he has received less this season. I just have a hard time trusting the decision makers for the Jazz right now.

How about comparing apples to apples? If the Lakers also go .500 then they'll make the playoffs.

At any rate, assuming that the Jazz will be proactive about Corbin (and the vets) after making the playoffs is a fool's bet. If I had any faith they would be proactive instead of reactive, I wouldn't currently be the equivalent of a Warrior's fan last year. This is only a waste season if we don't see the Jazz make some real changes this offseason.

I'm a terrible person, I know.

I agree with you so I am a turrible person as well. This team needs MAJOR changes from both a player and coaching standpoint.

Many of us are in that same boat.

If we want to make the play-offs we ALL have to trust and to pray for BIG-AL to compete and win us some games. Why ?

1: He is our primary option on offense and with desire of taking responsibility he will shoot nearly 20 shots per game at this stage.
2: He gets the most touches on our offensiv plays, If we want to win, Al has to be productive.
3: He can defend very well, If he wants to do it. Maybe he is our best low-post defender. He is BIG.

So ALL HEIL BIG-AL
Iam Cakar and I approve this message.

Well, when I stopped watching games back in December I said to myself I'd check back in for the playoffs. I fully expected this team, as disappointing as it was, to make the playoffs. The fact that they're in a tight race to MAYBE get the 8th spot and if they did go it would continue to be the Al and Sap show I really don't care either way.

I'm morally opposed to a pro sports team tanking. People pay to watch a sports contest. There's no room for losing on purpose when you're being paid to play and people are paying to watch you play. So, I want the Jazz to conduct themselves with honor and integrity.

That said, I'm looking forward to next year. I hope the C4 take the reins. If they don't my Jazz fandom will be put on ice indefinitely. If we don't develop the C4 before they hit their prime and all start needing new contracts then we've missed the window and we're long-term ****ed.
