Not only that, they ignore the very basic grammar rule that a "Q" must be followed by a "U." That's just not right.

Why do you feel the need to rip on this person's country?? No reason for a country of 1.7 million to rile you up this much.

ROFL.... +41C ( 106F ) average temperature in summer? Sorry, I am hailing from northern Europe, this temperature is no good for me. There is nothing to be jealous about Qatar's climate first of all and then lets take a look at this:

Qatar has an unelected, monarchic, emirate-type government. There are no democratic institutions or elections, and power is assumed on a hereditary basis. Its legal system combines limited aspects of Islamic (or Sharia) and civil law codes in a discretionary system of law totally controlled by the Emir. Although civil codes are being implemented, Islamic law is used in family and personal matters - :eek:

During the month of Ramadan, eating, drinking, and smoking in public is strictly banned from dawn to sunset. Violating this law can lead to arrest - nice, so if I eat snack on the street I go to jail??
In common with other Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, sponsorship laws exist in Qatar. These laws have been widely described as akin to modern-day slavery
Various governmental sponsors have recently exercised their right to prevent employees from leaving the country, effectively holding them against their will for no good reason. Some individuals after resigning have not been issued with their exit permits, denying them their basic right to leave the country.
Qatar is a destination for men and women from South Asia and Southeast Asia who migrate willingly, but are subsequently trafficked into involuntary servitude as domestic workers and labourers, and, to a lesser extent, commercial sexual exploitation. The most common offence was forcing workers to accept worse contract terms than those under which they were recruited. Other offences include bonded labour, withholding of pay, restrictions on movement, arbitrary detention, and physical, mental, and sexual abuse
Foreign nationals are free to affiliate with their faiths other than Islam, i.e. Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Bahái, as long as they are religious in private and do not offend 'public order' or 'morality'. - Love this one.. All Western countries should do the same to all other religions but Christianity...right:)?
In 1995 an American citizen visiting Qatar was sentenced to six months in prison and 90 lashes, for homosexual activity
 - wow I am surprised he was left to live!

All in all, not jealous for sure.

Its funny, because ironically enough, Muslim nations promoted freedom to express any sort of religion (proven with verses in the koran, in case u were interested in scriptural evidence) centuries before any western, or european nation did. Also, if theres only 1.7 million people living in Qatar, and they are predominately practicing muslims, then not being abe to eat on ramadan and stuff of that nature its not that extreme from a cultural standpoint. Regardless, I do find this rising Islamist theocratic movement quite disappointing, and its ironic that Islamic nations have actually reversed the mass amounts of political progress they made a millennium ago.
