We're both competing at Grapplers Quest tomorrow afternoon. That bastage lost almost forty pounds for this tournament; he's going to WRECK his division.

I'll post videos tomorrow.

Good luck guys. Relatively speaking, which one of you is better? Also, I remember the grappling video you posted a year or two ago where you lost in the Finals to some guy who was a lot bigger than you, and having watched that, I always wondered, and hopefully this doesn't come across as harsh because I'm honestly wondering, what the heck is grappling? It just seems like teeball for wannabe wrestlers. I'm not doubting there's not skill and athleticism involved but it just seemed soooooo toned down from wrestling or sports of that nature.

Archie lost 40? Dude never looked the least bit chubby or anything in the pictures he has posted here. He must be crazy skinny now.

What is this, your personal twitter?

What happens in Vegas between Trout and Archie stays in Vegas. If they want to grapple on the low down, who are we to judge?

I got my *** kicked in two divisions; Archie, as predicted, steamrolled his opponents. He took gold; I took a dump. We were both happy.

Getting your *** kicked in two divisions is still very admirable and you have my respect. I know I don't have the balls to train and compete in that. I'm lucky if I can will myself to play pickup basketball once a week if my soul hasn't been sucked completely dry that respective day of work.

I wrestled three years and i can say with confidence, a good grappler will beat a good wrestler 9 times out of 10. Grappling is much harder than wrestling, in my opinion. In one, you try not to be put on your back for three seconds. In the other, you try not to get choked unconscious or any limbs broken.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Grappling practice is muuuuch worse than wrestling practice ever was.

Pro wrestlers are so strong though. Do grapplers train much for their strengths also?

So grappling is submission wrestling? I wrestled in High School too I would be interested in trying this.
One thing looking good about the grappling to me, it looks like it could really be helpful in real life in a weaponless situation. Because almost all of the fights I've seen in my life ended up on the ground pretty quick and all that karate mumbo jumbo were useless most of the time.

I haven't fought much myself(I was the short guy in the gang giving the orders to the big guys to fight for me) but if I ever decide to learn a few things for self defense, I know I'll give the weight to some boxing, wrestling and the grappling techniques that these guys are practicing.
