I hope he developed some perimeter skills so that he can get some minutes at the 3. Combined with that athleticism our wing problem can be solved from within.

I am more concerned about his ability to play defense on the perimeter. Evans still belongs as an energy player and as a good matchup for quick face-up 4's.

The difference between a quick face-up 4 and a 3 is not vast. Evans cannot play a significant role as a big. He just gets abused down there and I just don't think his body is 'designed' to carry weight and power.

Evans' timing on the blocked shots is great. He's long enough that he can just reach over other players and block them even if he doesn't have perfect position. He gets up so quick and blocks so smoothly, he practically looks like he's taking tennis serves.

If he could put the ball on the floor, even a little bit, and throw in some occasional fakes, he could be a good offensive player on the block.

His body is built more to play the 3, like a Stacy Augmon or Thaddeus Young. He did get pushed around inside last year.

Jeremy Evans is like a poor man's Andrei Kirilenko. The guy can block shots and is a 4 in the sense that his offensive game is almost entirely inside. However, both Evans and AK are too slight to play the 4 against most starting PF's in the NBA and just not good enough shooters to be effective 3's.
