What's new

Impressed with the Sixers in game 1...

No. No. Noooooo.

I know why you are doing this.

Dude, I like Turner, but let's not overrate the guy. He isn't that good. He is a bad defender, can't shoot, and doesn't get to the foul line. He has had a good playoff thus far, but he still isn't that good.

Cy, I'm trying to make this thread about things I like. You can make it about an argument that only you see if you want to... but I probably won't participate.

Is it good to have big guys that can score and to balance an aggressive transition attack with some half-court execution? Find me a guy that says NO to both of these questions and I'll happily moderate the debate you want to have.

As it stands, we can get rid of Jefferson and still have better half-court and low post scoring than Philly. The point is that Philly almost stole a game IN BOSTON, and the Jazz got blown out in 4 straight games. Perhaps they can take some lesson from Philly? Perhaps? Perhaps? That is the point of this thread.

I'm going to make a Mad Lib out of this post and paste it in every thread in which you try to be "level-headed."

Uhh, you are aware Boston isn't that great and the Spurs are that great?

Not trying to make an argument. I just stated my opinion on a forum. I'm sorry if it didn't agree with what you thought.

What on earth has Alec Burks proven? His sophomore season could be wonderful, and we can all say Turner is not the heir to Burks, but Evan Turner is proving himself well. He rebounds well, you said it yourself for his height and position. His midrange game is underrated. He is playing on another level in the playoffs. He's on a higher learning procedure, and he's finding his chi at the professional level. We are just saying Burks is better than Evan Turner off homerish potential. Not off stats. WE all think Burks is going to come in next year and prove himself, right? Maybe that doesn't happen, and his shot selection is still on par with CJ Miles...

Saying Evan Turner is better than Burks is not overrating him, it's just a fact, for now... lets hope.

Watching game. Holiday blatantly doesn't shoot last second half-court shot to end the 3rd to preserve his 3/5 3pt shooting performance.

I remember when Harris did that and everyone on the board went nuts. He actually had a defender right in front of him, Holiday was open.

What the hell did Doc Rivers just do? Down by one, 4.4 second shot differential, and he has Rondo foul at 10 seconds to put 14 back on the clock and wipe the differential away. Let's see if it works.

It was idiotic. Doc changed his mind after 10 seconds run off. If you are going to play the FT game, do it early as possible.

ALSO, HOLY **** THEY ACTUALLY CALLED A MOVING SCREEN ON KG ON A LAST POSSESSION OF A GAME! Thank you NBA refs, for not being a total piece of stinky ****.

Now do this every game on every play and Kevin Garnett and the Celtics will probably lose the series because he would foul out in the 1st 6 minutes of the game.

Frankly, I don't like either team, but I despise the Celtics more since they have Garnett on there team! This guy palms the ball, travels and engages in all other forms of malfeasance while masquerading as a basketball player! Besides that, I don't like his attitude, either!

I get the comps and we've been in agreement on the Jazz attacking the Spurs fast. I just don't think Celtics are on par with Spurs and I don't see the 6ers as an 8th seed on par with a Jazz 8th seed. The Jazz overachieved to get into the playoffs and I credit coaching for that. The sixers were a much better team early on and fell to the 8th seed and I blame coaching for that too.
Here's a video that puts things into perspective for me. The Jazz didn't have anyone who could do this to the Spurs.
IMHO jazz underachieved this season by al jefefrson ball hoggery, and lack of corbin's coaching. we might never know the truth unless you havea time machine in your basement and we go back in time and take out corbin jefferson, bell, watson, howard for the whole season.
but i just think jazz >>> sixers(if you take coaching out of the equation
